How nice if I could play Jazz with a guitar...
But the reality is, I cannot play Jazz in authentic way not even playing chords. Chord progression of Jazz musics are too complex for me.
But there is a way to play such Jazz musics with a guitar with just three fingers! It's not a fake or cheating at all. It sounds like "Jazz" rather than playing with open strings chords.
In this video, I am introducing six very simple 3-finger chord forms You can easily memorize those 6 while practicing with this video. I am explaining the relationships between those 3 chords (minor7th, 7th, major7th) to make it easier to remember as a set. My guitar teacher taught me this method a few years ago and it worked like a charm for me, so I guarantee!
I told you six forms (3 forms for each 5 string and 6 string), but actually there will be one more. C6 (6-string base) will be there, but it can be easily memorized by referencing the form of C7 once you understand the concept of the six 3-finger chord forms. So, there are 7 chord forms, but the last one is a kind of appendix.
Well, I think it's easier playing rather than reading, so please watch this video and I hope you will enjoy playing Jazz guitar!

I used an iPhone app "iReal Pro" to generate the rhythm part used in this video. It plays backing rhythm just by typing in chord progressions. It's an amazing app!
