Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - Medival Jam (Allan Zax Remix)

This is a recreation of the "Medival Jam" theme from the game Jazz Jackrabbit 2 released by Epic Games on May 7, 1998.
The original score was written by Alexander Brandon and was very influential on my early music ideas.
Being a huge fan of the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 game I often listened the incredible OST.
I now have the chance to give this favorite melody of mine a different spin in the Psy Trance genre.

Traveling merchandiser here. Listened to this for almost 3 hours straight on one of my service stops. I was born in 1986 and never ever heard of this game when i was growing up. It is my fav Jazz 2 track as well! I remember when I first discovered the game around 1999-2000 I didn't have a PC at home so I went to the local PC club and payed for an hour just to load that level, pause the game and listen to this over and over. :)

I played the 3D demo of JJ3. It didn't have the same feel. Some music was ok but nothing compared to JJ2. Same way Sonic the Hedge went but not as good. I think it could be good again but I felt the designers knew it was going to be a flop. From what I recall, EPIC did a big crap on the engineers.

I just believe that a reboot with modern 2d/3d side scrolling gameplay it could be awesome, if they get the music to make it shine tho :P

Another fantastic remix from you, I should've found your Remixes sooner~! This game was a big part of my childhood, I had a Windows 98 PC with no internet but tons of pre-installed games on it including Re-Volt, Age of Empires 1 & 2 and of course this game. Had tons of fun playing it, especially when I got internet later on and could play it multiplayer. These remixes are a fresh new spin on some good old soundtracks and I like it. Genuinely sounds like something you would hear in a modern day JJ game!

The song is a nice clean minor scale banger that makes great use of harmony. I like how the melody starts building and visits the 1 key, then 3rd then 5th and finally reaches the octave before bursting into this Major chorded yet somehow sad slow part... I have no idea why it works so well. Maybe simplicity is its strenght?

@@AllanZax dude, you gotta admit that some of our childhood video games have some sick soundtracks that left a print on our brains and souls and they definnetly deserve remixes and 2020 like hq enhantments. Yea there were some great games with amazing ost in the past like Jazz2 and Megaman. They were indeed influential to my music and the decision for me to go into electroinc music production. :) More Jazz2 remixes are on the way so stay tuned.
