Nothing frustrated the ever living hell out of me as a child as much as that level >_< It wasn't until I discovered DOSBox like 4 years ago that I started playing JJ again and discovered something quite amazing. Apparently you can press T to slow down the game so it's somewhat easier to get through that section of the level. At that point when I finally did it, I swear the Hallelujah chorus was playing in my head

Slowing down the gameplay - since we're all doing it on emulators, you can alter that in the dosbox command prompt as well as a keystroke in-game - helps with the 'impossible jump'. I used to play this on a 33mhz pc (oh god I'm old) and actually didn't know that jump was a problem until i tried it on a faster computer some years later. JJ still has the best original soundtrack of anything I've ever played and is actually the thing that got me interested in production rather than just songwriting. It took me another 25 years to actually start using DAWs tho lmao but I partially have this game to thank for my love of 80s synths

It's weird because the very first mail-order floppy version of this game didn't have the annoying "impossible jump". None of the versions did aside from the last version of the game, which was the CD rom. So It's a bug that wasn't in the previous versions, but ended up being in the final one.

OMG! That's why I remembered I had played through that level once, where I got stuck a couple years later (and for life). Wasn't till the pandemic hit when I went back to beat it. btw I was 8 back then.

I avoided playing the whole episode when I was a kid, because of the impossible jump. I remembered I had seen the boss only once when my older brother was playing, so this was cemented in my young mind as the "legendary level only good players" can beat.

Paul Charlton Not exactly. Someone told me you could press T on the keyboard and it would slow down the emulation of the game so it'd be somewhat easier to get through. I actually did it for the first time like 3 years ago. But seriously, my rage on that level as a child I will NEVER forget >_

This music makes me feel like Tommy Pickles would be a great secret-service operative when he grows up. He wouldn't take shit from no one. Exceptin' that blasted bear, Baloo. Baloo closes in in his F16 Fighter Jet, and lowers himself down (on auto-pilot of course) above Tommy Pickle's secret clubhouse for him to play his fuckin' dolls in. He lowers down on a rope, and without Tommy noticing, he pulls out a giant surfboard. He cracks Tommy across the head with it, or so he thought.... Mowgli was there too. He was just chillin'

Seeing all the trouble people had on level 2, I'm glad I had the floppy version back then... That being said, the energy in this song always makes me feel pumped - and played into the whole bouncing theme of the Orbitus levels ^_^
