Whenever I hear this song, I get a picture in my mind of Jungkook dressed in formal wear standing in the corner of a smokey jazz cafe-bar or restaurant. He croons into an antique microphone to seduce the patrons with his charm, while the accompanying house pianist tinkles the ivories on an old upright in the background. It's a balmy southern night and the old air conditioner is blowing gently in the background while the summer rain falls outside. I don't know why my mind painted so much of an image in my head for this particular song. But it did!

Yes this song was uploaded on soundcloud for ARMY :) I think you can hear JK singing a little bit of the song during one of his lives (you can search on yt but you'll get there if you react to Jungkook singing on Vlive compilation by Ida S - she does a great videos showcasing JK's talent and role in the group as the main vocalist if you are interested) and he also sang a little bit during this year's festa concert :)

speaking about making music about the covid situation they made a album called BE released last fall (when their tour cancelled they got together and made it and mostly self powered with directing the mv, taking the photos and more outside of writing and composing and producing). Its full of good songs and relate to the covid situation from different aspects.

Ding Ding Ding ... good job on figuring out the song. This song was for Festa of 2020, it was a Jungkook solo song that was written early on during the covid closures. All of BTS's concerts were put on hold during Feb/Mar but by June everyone knew that all the concerts for the year were cancelled. This was hard for BTS because not only would they not see Army but they would not have that joy of the concerts that gave them the energy to keep on going with all the hard work that they do to continue to give us music. So this is Jungkook's answer to that lonely time for him. You did a good job of looking at the lyrics, remember that purple is the color of BTS's love for Army. Good Job Andrew.

The song was released as part of bts festa 2020( bts anniversary celebration) jungkook wrote and gifted that song to army as he explained how he miss army and performing. Since you were talking about appreciating their using real instruments I just realized you might find their song ON interesting. It isn't jazz inspired, but it gives the feeling of a marching band and there are 2 music videos for the song. ON Kinetic Manifesto is the one I personally prefer, but it shows of their choreography for the song with backup dancers and the choreo itself has portions very reminiscent of marching band choreo. The other music video is more traditional and tells more of a story. BUT the reason I thought of this is that they put out a behind the scenes video about the making of this song on their KZbin Channel BANGTANTV called 'BTS (방탄소년단) 'ON' Commentary Film : Dialogue' and it is 18:25 minutes talking to the musicians they hired here in the US to record the instruments (such as The UCLA Bruin Marching Band ) and a choir for background vocals. It's very interesting. Again not sure if you're interested, but if so maybe you can do one video reacting to the song like you usually do (lyrics, music video, live performance) and then a second video for this behind the scenes video. Unless you're brave enough to have one super long video haha. Again, no pressure if it's not your thing, just thought after this video and as a musician you would appreciate actually seeing the musicians and clips of them recording the live instruments.

2020 was really hard on them. They've all commented on that. They were sad, depressed, suffered burnout,... At least one of them had to have professional help. That's how much they gain energy from their koncerts and direct interaction with ARMY. The single Dynamite was released to cheer up ARMY during the pandemic and their mini album BE released this winter centres around their feelings with Life Goes On as the main song and mv. There's a truly unique symbiotic relationship between BTS and ARMY that I haven't encountered in any other fandom. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hi, glad you reacted to this one, I love it so much, it's my favorite solo song from Jungkook. But for seeing it live, it's not just because of the situaion, this song is a Soundclound release, so not an official release so it's not part of their performances. There is rare times where they performed some songs not from their official discography but it's not happening a lot ^^ The only live we have for this song by Jungkook is from one of his livestream, a few months ago (it's like half of the song) acapella, and it's really nice, but yes don't expect any live performance of this song soon ^^' Anyways, thank's a lot for the video, can't wait the next one ! :D

oohhhh you know what I'm going to comment about, right??? that ii-V-I progression (or well, II-v-i) of course! :-D As soon as you mentioned "3 chords" for the first time, I was like, "hold up, I have to concentrate on that, and see if I can pick it out". And although I wasn't really sure, I also didn't hear anything that seemed completely out of that (mind you, since I move between countries every couple of years for my job, I don't have my own piano. And lockdown and all that made going to a piano room to play very difficult. So I was not able to sit down and play around with it myself, unfortunately). Also, your theory as to the meaning of the song, and the timing of the release and all is pretty much spot on, so that was amazing to see you figuring that out, too. Basically, thank you for another very enjoyable video! And, just to add to your statistic 😉, might I throw in "Blood, Sweat and Tears" as a request? That song was my personal rabbit hole to go down, because of its relation to "Demian" by Hermann Hesse (one of my German literature teacher's favourites way back when I was still in school)

You were right, and indeed the lyrics are about army and his live performer life. They shine in everything they do, but performing live is in their blood. Last year was tough for them, concerts canceled and all, they were depressed: JK-->still with you, RM/Joon was frustrated, a lot, Yoongi-->Telepathy... well he lives in and out and I think he grasps it, V/Tae-->blue & grey, Jin-->Abyss, Hobi-->Dis-ease and Blue Side (although released this year), Jimin-->Fly to my room So it was a fruitful depression (they have help of course) as they put all that into songs to express themselves and expel it out. Glad you enjoy the tracks you've discovered so far!! I am curious as what your opinion on RM mono mixtape and latest song Bicycle would be ;) And if not a reaction, you can check those on your own (always soundcloud, I'd go: listen in soundcloud just for the music production -> check lyrics in doolset and maybe some lyric video)

You are the third reactor I've seen who had the coffee house while it's raining outside association. It's really fascinating to me that that seems to be a common thing. I also had that picture in my head when I first heard the song and since then it has become a bit of a ritual for me that as soon as it starts raining heavily I make myself a coffee, open the window to let the sound and smell of the rain in and put on that song. It's the most calming thing, I definitely recommend it.

I like your breakdown of the lyrics and music. It was interesting to learn about the chords. You were on point with your interpretation. Jungkook said he wrote the song, when watching concerts and ARMY last year and missing performing during covid. I love the song and the vibe it gives me. Jungkook gave us a pyjama mini concert on his live with whole 12 songs yesterday night at 1 am in korea. He really misses performing 🥺 It is always nice to hear his raw live vocals. Yes, Still With You is a song Jungkook made for ARMY during BTS's 2020 Festa week. (Festa week is when BTS celebrate the their debut anniversary with us and release gifts for us such as songs, videos, and much more content.) As I said earlier, this song was made by Jungkook. The lyrics of Still With You talk about his feelings and how he wishes to meet ARMY again but that he's still with us even if we aren't able to meet in person.

Persona is his personal experience/exploration of Carl Jung’s map of the soul psychological concept of “persona”. And Love is his reflection on how love changes a person- with amazing wordplay, Namjoon is such a literary nerd. I’ve read a bunch of classics since becoming a BTS fan because of references in their songs or RM’s book recs! (Kafka’s short stories, Kafka on the Shore, Demian, Into the Magic Shop)

@@AndrewBergSax sorry for posting so much…another rec I don’t think I’ve seen, since the rappers have so many great solo songs and it’s hard to pick- you could react to a whole mixtape of RM and AgustD (Suga). I recommend their latest mixtapes, Mono and D-2, since they’re not as heavy straight rapping more lyrical. They’re also not that long of albums. You wouldn’t have to do as deep a dive, but you could go back for specific songs later.

I freaking love this song so much! Even though it's an entirely different style and vibe, I wonder what your reaction to something like BTS's "DDAENG" or perhaps even "Baepsae" would be (you could do a lyric video and react to the music and then perhaps the DKDKTV explained by a Korean video to understand the lyric meaning and Korean cultural references). I am curious because I tend to prefer a lot of ballads and/or indie-style music and with BTS I keep finding I love their raps as well, both lyrically and due to the interesting things they always do musically.
