I think as a long time fan of theirs I start to realize more and more why people are taking a liking to sleep token and that's because it breaks from the norm within the contemporary styles and genres/subgenres and brings in what Jazz did for music many decades ago. It brings a twist and a break in between that doesn't bore you with predictable choruses and rhythms that are all too overused in a lot of pop music these days. Those breaks in the music and twists in notes are what reel you in just like how Jazz does. It just sounds amazing to the ear and you feel it more. At least for me and some folks I've spoken and have expressed what they liked about them. It makes sense seeing the lead singer is also a very Jazzy sort of dude if you ever got a chance to see his personal channel before Sleep Token popped off the way they have now. I won't share his info on that but it was a happy coincidence for me and I'm more than happy to see him and the band succeed. But yes he is also a Jazzy dude outside of Sleep Token so it makes a lot of sense lol.

This is exactly it! They break genres in a new exciting way, but Vessel is also an incredible lyricist with a unique voice. I've listened back a few albums and you can hear how hes grown. His voice is one of a kind and hes a phenomenal song writer

I really enjoyed the vamp outlining a bm7 chord that continues through the entire track just building the tension. Then the drop comes in and it goes away for 8 measures only to come back in but with the octave instead of the 7th. It just adds that extra excitement to the end of the track track. Not to mention the pumping/driving shape and rhythm the vamp has that just really locks you into the track. Really well done.

Lol I've probably put it on every Sleep Token video, but we need a reaction to Blood Sport!!! One of Vessel's best piano / vocal performances, both on the studio version and live version (From the Room Below). I know David really likes the drumming he's heard from Sleep Token, so the studio version might be a better one. Either way I will take what I can get! Stay jazzy friend!
