It's hard to describe how this beautiful tune makes me feel. It taps right into my memory's soft spot. This was one of only a few songs that made me become consciously aware of House music, and more specifically, and especially, Deep House. Shortly after hearing this, I began the present addiction that I now have to House music. It fascinates me how this tune is an example of the pure embodiment and representation of Deep House, and it just happened to be a gateway to this wonderful type of music; as if it were meant to be. As if this music was meant to be apart of my destiny. I went through some difficult moments right around the time I discovered what I like to call real House music; House music from the underground; House music that was spawned from the likes of Disco, Jazz, Funk, etc., during the mid-1980s, which flourished throughout the last half of that decade and beyond. My life was full of turbulence during that time, and House music came to me. It came to me as if to ground me, yet take me away to places that I never thought existed within my mind and soul. Those long days and nights of abusing the hell out of marijuana whilst discovering track, after track, after track... those seemingly little and minor things, helped me so much. I wish there was a way that I could thank every person who contributed to making this genre a reality. This track is to all of these cats: Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, Ron Hardy, Marshall Jefferson, Jesse Saunders, Larry Heard and Fingers Inc., DJ Pierre... there are simply too many to name. The same goes for all of those producers who contributed to the rise of the Detroit sound; you know who you are: The Belleville Three. Out of the ashes, beauty will rise. House music: A Tale of Two Cities, Part Two. For the love of Detroit and Chicago.
+cursivedubline5 Wow. Just WOW. I grew up with the guys that started this label in Dallas , Tx. I consider myself lucky to have been apart of the journey that spawned this label and the artists that contributed to Doghouse. I listen to this today and it still holds up against the test of time. So glad you have this experience.

I was out of the picture well before the 90's house scene got underway but I got to say that the 90's had some great house tracks. A great house beat endures forever whether early or late. House is House, it transcends cultures and time.

Never ever heard this before...Jazz & Groove, a moniker synonymous with the finest brand of deep, jazzy and soulful house music...Brian Tappert along with Marc Pomeroy (& Roy Grant in the early years); were simply untouchable.

@zapp1030415 жыл бұрын
Finally got a sealed copy of this & the sound is pretty similar to that of this video which is quite disappointing. I'm guessing the pressing plant wasn't so great.

Yeah, this is the kind of sound Dylan Drazen is known for. It's so ill.

Yes Aaron Pomeroy - it's your Dad :-) www.discogs.com/artist/12314-Jazz-N-Groove
@rickyspitfire196910 жыл бұрын
The early version of Jazz-N-Groove was Brian Tappert with Roy A. Grant. Grant left around 1996 and was replaced by Marc Pomeroy from that point forward. So Pomeroy doesn't appear on this record but he is on the majority of Jazz-N-Groove records.

@underspawndub ????? This reply makes no sense. Anyways, as it turns out there was a pressing problem & every single copy of this record is 'ruined'.
