Thanks for making this! It was my history teacher (Walter vd Leur, who you mentioned wrote a book on Strayhorn) who made me conscious of the depth of Billy Strayhorn as a character and musician. I'm now reading David Hajdu's book on him and I want to learn more about this crazy and beautiful guy whose mother called him Billy hahaha!

This is a wonderful performance with a stellar line-up of musicians! For me, no performance of "Lush Life" will ever touch the John Coltrane / Johnny Hartman version, but this one comes a lot closer than I thought possible. Thank you very much for posting this video.
