I dont understand why mr Yamin is playing on a clarinet with albert system. I think regular boehm system would have a more fitting tone (at least compared to the modern german system)

That’s Evan Christopher playing clarinet. Albert system is renowned and revered amongst New Orleans clarinet players for the characteristic, big full tone it produces, especially in it’s chalumeau register, and many of the most famous New Orleans players played Albert system.

Albert clarinets have 1) wider bore, 2) less keys, 3) more of open holes. Wider bore allows the sound to be tubbier, more operatic and malleable. Less keys allow instrument to be more silent while playing, with less cutlery-like key noise. Open (ringless) holes allow for better control of slurs, portamentos, legatos and other tricks done with bare fingers, that extend the expressiveness of the instrument.

So simple ? Hmm...

It's simple concept, and over a simple chord progression might not be so hard to pull off. But in a song thats a little bit more harmonically complex it becomes harder to find a riff, modify it as you are playing so it highlights the harmony and doing so without taking the spotlight.
