Jazz at Lincoln Center's JAZZ ACADEMY This is something you can't do on Bass Guitar, but Ibanez has addressed that issue by making something called a UB804 (and a 5 string Version called UB805) which can be played w/ a Bow.

swingin with a bow is nothin easy .......even with a good classical training ........just listen to paul chambers , major holley or slam stewart and try to imitate them.......

Great playing!!!! As a jazz DB player I typically use the bow for practicing, however, I'm not very fond of the sound the bow produces for that type of soloing.

This is so hard!!! I'm the worst at arco!!! it's discouraging coming from an advanced pizzicato level to a beginner for my arco, it's like playing a different instrument.

Exercises from essential elements for jazz ensemble that have sample background bass lines can be played w/ the bow to facilitate staying on beat w/ the bands & to blend in w/ the horns, just as w/ Electric Bass you can do that w/ the Pick.
