There is so little space given to Rudolfs situation as a new person in the west within a very pretentious environment. Also his situation back home was so vulnerable due to his sexual preferences. 7 years in a Russian prison at 23 would end/ distroy this very talented dancer..all the hard work and dreams that he lived for..would be over... there was nothing else he had to offer the world...dance was who he was... He was one with his body and soul through dance... ❤

I almost wept at 8:43. Ballet is so ephemeral, and balletic genius even more so. How could ANYONE expect him to jump as high as he had at 25 or even 30? And AIDS on top of it. One can understand the children's remarks, but oh, after he died, I'll bet that some at the Vaganova wept in shame.

I am grateful for such a wonderful, moving series. One note, though: it would be great to have subtitles when Russian is being spoken ...

the documentary should inform who the speakers are and should offer subtitles when Russian is spoken.

The music was terribly inappropriate to be a narrative. One can't just pour a sickly sweet musical syrup over the entire documentary whether or not people are dancing or speaking or laughing or crying and expect it to be sensitive to the content. Too bad a sensitive musician wasn't asked to provide the
