My husband and I watched this show when it first came out. We were enthralled by these performances. But this song brought us both to tears... My beautiful husband died 2 yrs ago, and now all I have left are the incredible memories... He was a musician, he met Donny Hathaway, when he was on the road. Donny played some tunes for him, in his hotel room, and my husband said he was awed by how talented he was, and knew he would be famous someday. This song transports me to the best years of my life... 🩷

I never thought I'd love this song sung by anyone other than Brother Donny Hathaway, alas this rendition is soul moving. Brother Roddick is feeling every word, as am I. I simply lose myself, such RAW talent. He has such control over this instrument. God bless you.

I can listen to this man sing again & again. I have had the pleasure of hearing him sing live & have gotten to know him as a friend through my Church. He would come for quite a few years to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve & sing with our choir. He would always sing "Oh Holy Night" & he would sing to my heart, every nerve ending & every fiber of my being. It was something I had never experienced before or again. The tears would stream down my cheeks. At that point I would look around at the congregation & just about every man & woman was crying too. After Mass I would always go up to him & thank him for bringing me to tears again with his gift. He is the kindest, funniest & most down to earth person you could meet & you wouldn't expect that of someone who of his stature in the world of opera & stage. Bravo Rod!
