How can you read and understand English if you do not know how exactly the letters and words sound and are pronounced, for sure you imagine and understand the words according to your sign language and lip reading and not according to the words and their pronunciation perfectly. Also the voice you hear through the CI is not natural human like it's effected in your voice when you speak it's like robotic and Mikey mousy, in the CI there is not enough electrodes to generate all sound frequencies and complexities that ae in the billions hair in the cochlear that produces rich and complex natural sound, and especially when you hear music through CI you do not hear all the vocals of all frequencies as rich and complex music as the billions of hair in the cochlear that pick up and generate all the frequencies of sound. And because of all this you do not prefer using your CI because it's not natural and the sound sounds robotic and inefficient and not part of you and nature.
