JB Weld -3 year review - How Does It Hold Up?

Thank you! Went and watched the original and ordered some JB. My transducer came off the bracket.. Grrrr... AND since the boat will be out, I'll give it the once over for holes. If you are ever on Chatuge gimme a shout :)

Awesome! Have you been through rough water with it? Where the waves cause heavy pounding?

Not much... Only on Lake Michigan and some inland waters...personally, I don't like to put the boat under heavy pounding more than I need to. So far, everything related to the JB Weld is holding up.

Hi, greetings from Germany. I have seen your videos and I ordered this product to fix some holes in my boat. Can I use it in cold temperatures. Because here is now 6 deg outside. I think it takes longer to cure. What do you think, have you any experience? Thanks in advance.

i have small areas in my gel coat that is cracked, about 3 or 4. Looks like dings when trailering at some point from the previous owner. The cracks are about 2 1/2 inches long and 1/8th of an inch wide. I see repair kits online but picked this jb weld marine weld up at academy and was thinking of giving it a try. So this stuff works that well?

Yes, I would absolutely try it first...mine is still holding as of 5.14.24.

I forgot to ask another question or two. Did you sand it first and if so, what grid of sandpaper?

I did not...just cleaned it really well and applied it.

Hi I have 3 rivets that leak on our 1963 Crestliner Special 14 foot aluminum boat we discovered last summer 2nd time we had our boat out on the lake we noticed the leaks when I saw water in the front of our boat by my feet lol luckily we were in our way in cause there was a storm coming in I pointed out the leaks of the 3 rivets on the left side of our boat what would you suggest for us replacing the rivets or something else

If it a massive leak, you need to have the rivets fixed...if not try the JB Weld. Mine is still holding up in 2023.

Do you think it will work on hairline Crack on my trim Cylinder? We went to lift the motor and found it leaking fluid from the Cylinder.

I went to Lowe's and Home Depot in my are trying to find the JB water weld. Neither store had it. The guy in home depot recommended EP 200 epoxy putty. It's in the same type of tube and you apply it the same way. Dose anyone know if that product works just as good?

You could give that a try.....I have also use Bondo and it has held up.

My keel on my 17’ misty river leaks in a couple spots. JB weld work on this?

Recently tried the jb clear weld fastening a plastic battery box holder to inside of metal detector thats aluminum, soon as I broken tab off the product it had the worst smell & just doesnt go away at all & if you get it on your fingers the smell will not be able to come off for days even using nail polish goo gone the smell will disappear days later by wearing away using your hands on doing things round the house, I think the bonding may have held up so far but again the smell on the repaired area is not going away at all it may be there for long long time.. If I ever use any epoxy glue again for any other repairs down the road it sure wont be any jb product no matter how well it works.. I dont understand why the manufacture doesnt disclose this on their products of the horrible smell it releases once opened & after applying the epoxy the smell can make you sick..
