Dave Stevens no doubt has left an indelible mark in the art world. My father in law was also quite the artist in his own right. He worked doing oil paintings of Native Americans and was good at painting Russell art of the old West, Monets and Renoir paintings. Also thank you for sharing the fact that your great grandparents were field workers since my father in law was born and raised in the Coachella Valley following the lettuce runs all the way to Salinas California and back as a young man. I personally only met my grandparents one time when I was three years old. So your memories of knowing your great grandparents as well as grandparents is a blessing in itself, Jeff. May they all RIP. ❤🙏💐🌴🌟

Thanks for sharing your own family history. I always find it interesting. Fun fact about mine. My grandfather was 68 when my Dad was born in 1924 and there were three more after him, the youngest being 10 years younger than Daddy. Grandpa is 100 years older than I am. My youngest niece had to do a family history project for school when she was in middle school and when the teacher saw the age Grandpa was when Daddy was born, she asked her if she was sure. My niece said she was. Grandpa was 32 years older than Grandma and it was the second marriage for both of them. I sure wish I could have known him because Daddy said he was a lot of fun and I know he would have been proud of Daddy.

Jeff, thanks for giving us a little of your family background. Your family was obviously the type of people who were hard working and made sacrifices to move from OK to Calif. It sounds easy, but in those times it was much harder to accomplish something like that. I really enjoyed this video. As a son of parents who made a similar trek I can relate to this and also have fond memories of my grandparents and uncles who are no longer with us. Thanks again.

I enjoyed meeting your grandparents. I was close to mine as well. My grandma kept the fridge stocked with pop, the cookie jar full of cookies, and bread drawer full of Little Debbies, Hostess, ect. After school on Friday, my siblings and cousins would race to get to a phone first, to make reservations to stay with our grandparents. They would take us to the Ben Franklin dime store, Woolworths, or the mall, and buy us something. Grandma's cooking, helping Grandpa around the property or, watching golf/bowling with him; just the love given to we kids, lasts our lifetime. Great generations for sure.

His influence was vast.😔 WOW, Jeff, to have so many of your relatives in one cemetery is something. I'm so impressed that you know so much about each of them, even those you really didn't know. That was a touching picture of the three boys around the grave.❤️🩹 The fate of your grandfather was tragic, but unfortunately typical of the times. What a way for your grandmother to find out.💔 Thank you so much, for sharing this with us, Jeff. 🏡🙏🏻🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I had a video of that movie. So fun to hear about family history. I didn't know much about my family until I went on Family Search, because it was free. I didn't know my great grandmother had died in the Oregon State Hospital, where they filmed "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". All I knew about my great grandmother was that my aunt had been told she was not in good health. Found out one of my great uncles had a bakery and confection company in Portland Oregon in the 1910s. Found a lot of family pictures on there too. So, nice that you had some grandparents you remember. Mine had all passed away by the time I was 6 years old.
