The stone soup reminded me. Mother had a really fun game when we were kids. She had a clean, safe-to-use stone. When the garden was in full growth, She would put the stone in a large pot and have us go out to the garden and find a few items we would like in a soup. (The stone was lonely and didn't make good soup by itself) The older kids pealed and cut up the vegetables and Mother found other items that complemented what we found. The soup always tasted great and we felt great because we helped. And because we spent a lot of time outdoors, the soup hit the spot.

That was definitely worth the money. I don't like it when they apply the tip either. We ordered a prime rib dinner, just 1 and it cost $80 but we had 3 meals out of it and inflation is everywhere. Thanks for letting us tag along with you 😊.

That place is really pretty inside. All the food looked really tasty specially the chicken. And it did look like a good deal. John is right inflation is way out of control, but some of the problem is the food manufacturers and corporations price gouging consumers. I think eventually they are gonna regret what they have done. It's a shame they did it, specially right when covid started is when it began.

Inflation is out of control and that is one of the reasons why we almost never go out to eat anymore. I got into an argument with an owner of a restaurant just a few months back because they put all the prices up at the restaurant and they they cut the size of the portion on the plate in half and I told them I'm never coming back ever again that the portion was for a 12-year-old. I'll be honest I'm just waiting for half of the restaurants to start going under because nobody can afford these outrageous prices anymore. The one Diner a few miles away people just go for breakfast and they no longer go for dinner because they can't afford it. I'm waiting for them to close down. A couple weeks back I was in the mood for a butterscotch sundae from McDonald's. I had not had one in a few years. The last time I had one they were like 99 Cents so we each order the butterscotch sundae at the window and asked for a little extra buttescotch and the price was like $9.50 and we said forget it. I said I'll just go to the food store and buy a half a gallon of Breyers ice cream on sale right now for $3.50

@@jbinthehills Yes the price was $9.50 for the two ice cream sundaes. I think the caramel sundaes were $3.50 a piece and then a dollar a piece for a little extra Carmel plus tax. The total was right around $9.50 and we said no thank you. The one ice cream place down the road wants like $4.50 for one tiny little scoop of ice cream on a cone. We stopped going there also, we just go to the store and buy a half a gallon of ice cream for like $3 to $4. In the summertime we walked into an ice cream shop down the shore in Cape May New Jersey and there was a family in front of us a husband and wife and three kids and they all got ice cream cones and their bill was like $35.00. And I said oh my God when we were kids going down the Seashore it was like 75 cents for an ice cream cone and for all of us kids five of us it was not even $5

Oh wait they added 18% for a buffet? That is not right because they did not take your order you simply said you're getting the buffet, and you serve yourself all they do is take away your dirty dishes. For a buffet we usually leave five bucks and that is it since they do almost nothing.

Just an honest question, when you try all of these things to eat, are you finishing all on your plates or do you take a bite and then it gets thrown out? We do not fill our plates up when we go to the buffets. We try a little bit of everything that looks good. So we do not put more on our plate than we will eat. We grew up being taught not to waste food. 😎😎

First off you both look very nice, Bobbie looks very pretty with her pretty sky blue shirt. The buffet and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I feel the food is lacking. There should be something like pot roast with peppercorn gravy and maybe some sliced roast beef with a delicious rich hunter's gravy, and maybe some fried shrimp or fried oysters then I would think it was worth 34.95 the place is really nice did they have strawberry or cherry cheesecake? ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻✌🏻

Thanks for the video! While I know inflation has bumped up prices, I am not sure I would pay those prices for a place like this. I don't normally complain too much if going to a place for a special time and once in awhile if it is priced high - however, for the type of food it was and selection, it was a little less desirable for me. You're the only reason that it looked nice, tbh. To me, it looked like a Golden Corral Buffet with Dolly's name on it (actually that is what you're paying for). I adore Dolly but I think that is a bit much - I know everyone has to make money but she came from nothing (Coat of many colors), so I am surprised the price was so high for that type of place. I think your Pancake Pantry was more high quality than this buffet. Maybe you're right in that if you go when there is Prime Rib or some sort of special meat or seafood, I can see it more. I would still try things once at least, because even Outback or any chain restaurant you are paying a ton of money for one item and it may be not so great!

Great video. That place is beautiful. So glad to see your videos again. I have to tell you guys.. my husband and I came down with covid early this week.. first time we had it... but we binged watched your Gettysburg videos the one day and they went from 9am to 10 pm. Did you even realize how much hours you had on Gettysburg? Anyways. ... we really enjoyed it. Very comforting when we were down and out. We were just there 3 weeks ago. I've seen videos from here before but I thought the food looked better in this video than I've ever seen before. The chicken and pasta stood out to me the most. The dessert with J& B In the Hills on it was so awesome. That was kind of them to take the time to do that. Great video as always!

We had reservations for as soon as they opened the restaurant. Everything was hot and fresh. So the food didn't sit long to get cold or dried out looking. Maybe that's the key to buffets get there as soon as they open. It was very nice of them to bring us the cake. We were surprised. We appreciate you watching and commenting. 😎😎

Thanks for sharing your experience John and Bobbie. The food looked delicious (missed your trying out that fruit cobbler!, but cake was a nice touch). What struck me was that the buffet/restaurant seemed very 'homey', cozy and comfortable. I am guessing being off-season helped but the whole dinner experience seemed very relaxed and unrushed. Best wishes for good health and safe travels.
