JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One Review - Tiny Yet Powerful TV Soundbar!

Don't connect any speaker to a TV by Bluetooth unless it's the only option, that will introduce lag (audio and video out of sync) and because of the compression of Bluetooth the sound quality will also be worse. Use the supplied HDMI on the TVs HDMI ARC connection, or an optical cable. With HDMI the device should also turn on and off with the TV. The port in the back is a reflex port, not a "subwoofer hole". The device doesn't have a subwoofer. In fact the bass output only goes to 70 hz, which isn't comparable to a setup with a subwoofer in any way.

It's strongest bass is at 75hz but it Actually reaches down to 60, pretty much all you need to emit a cinematic sub, it just needs some audio EQ and Spacial processing. Works great when setup Properly on a PC. It's like a mini home theater.

You do know it has 2 modes, for movies, games the standard smart mode is activated, you can hear all the effects and surround. But when you listen to music it sounds very bad with the Smart mode. You can turn the smart mode off by holding down mute button 5 seconds and than press volume +

I think when it comes to sound, JBL has mastered the art except for some not so good sounding Bluetooth earphones. Nice review Linus. Your videos have been off for a while.

So you can connect a samsung tv via bluetoothvand it will automatically connect everytime you turn on your tv? And you said that you need a separate remote control for the volume if you connect via bluetooth, so can you use tha speaker remote control for that?

Only drawback is that, it has a cut off of 70Hz. But its normal for soundbar without subwoofer.

I bought this unit and hooked it up with the HDMI cable supplied, tried an endless amounts of Sharp Aquos settings to recognise the bar to zero avail.. The Bluetooth on my phone works on it so the bar is not faulty, maybe I’m faulty... I don’t get the plug n play promises when it just does not happen.

I had huge problems connecting it to my TV, but don’t give up. When it’s finally connected it’s great. You’ll find advice online. If you’re using the HDMI it needs to be connected to the ARC input.

You need to have a TV that has hdmi arc or earc for this to work. You can’t just plug it into any hdmi port on your tv. I bought this for a tv in my bedroom and the hdmi works straight away on my samsung tv. The tv is 2014 model btw.

Good review. I have this soundbar but my issue is when using over hdmi arc I cannot adjust the volume in smaller increments of 3 e.g. goes from 0,3,6,9 etc and I need it to make smaller volume adjustments. Can this be done? Or is this an issue for anyone else?

@@TechLineHD I bought it but i got a Problem. If i Turn PCM to ON in the Audio out Settings there is Good TV watching sound. But if i Watch Netflix or YT its really Bad. On the Other side if i Turn on „Passtrough“ on the Audio is Good in YT and Surround on Netflix, but TV watching Audio is Terrible. What can i do? I use Arc HDMI. And there is no „Automatic Option“ for Audio Out for my TV.
