I'm not a JBL fanboy I own Soundcore speakers but the Boombox is just ten times better than the Rave Mini if you want more sub-bass and sound quality.

In my experience the Rave Mini's sound quality is trash. It distorts a lot in higher volumes but has plenty of bass. If you just like bass you can get this. Otherwise I would suggest going for Rave Neo. Its almost as loud if you use the right EQ. Yes but the bass isn't the same in this speaker.
