Charge 5 has more bass and sounds more clear it’s just better. The build quality the sturdiness of it aswell

Every jbl speaker iv ever seen has had a blown speaker (apart from the jbl go ) I had a charge and extream both the left speaker was blown my mom had the boombox that just stopped turning one one day and a friend of mine had a flip that also had a blown speaker. I’ve never had a beats pill before but I can tell they are already better

@@OztinfrogI’ve had a flip 5, charge 3, Boombox 2 and 3 and never once have I had a blown woofer. The closest thing was a torn passive radiator on my boombox 2, which was an easy $30 fix with a new radiator

@@dread8900 I’m just say it’s sad because jbl were my favorite brand for portable speakers . Now the only thing I use is harman kardon aura studio it’s not really portable but it’s good and hasn’t had a problem since it came out

Honestly, if I am just going to be vibing, then I'll take a Beats Pill because of a deeper frequency response which I find it impressive. If I am outside then yeah I'll take the Charge 5 with me.

Just wanted to say I really liked your review. I'm trying to figure out if I should go with 2 charge 5 speakers for rafting all summer and riding the atv all winter. The atv riding is in extremely rough terrain. And of course, water soaked at times on the river rafting.

For pill you can also sterio pair them, and you can change position or change position of both speakers through the app. You can also create a stereo or just a general pair between the speakers. Just looking to help a few people out :)

Well the USB-C port is waterproof.. well sorta. It’s waterproof but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get wet. I’m here because 10 minutes ago I came home to find my JBL Charge 5 still charging from this morning which I thought was weird until I tried pulling the cable out the back and it was hot to touch, turned it round and my god I was shocked. The cable and the plastic around the port had melted the two together, it had got wet and short circuited. I’m just thankful my house didn’t burn down. Anyways, looks like I need a new speaker.

I own both. Jbl is better outdoor speaker and the beats is better indoor speaker. If your in between then it would just be preference of sound and features.

Compared to XG 500 ult7 is a way better speaker Louder, better in bass,mids and highs Sounds better even than jbl boombox 3 It has 7band eq but i use only Ult1 and Ult2 modes Negative sides: doesn't have handle like a XG 500 or boombox 3 And he is little pricey​@@Gianni-tn2xg
