I have owned a JBL charge 3 for years. It finally got distorted at louder volumes. I've owned a JBL charge 5 for the past year and it has been great! Battery life is good and it sounds good too. I recently purchased a Turtlebox and I will never look back. It blows the other speakers mentioned out of the water! Xb33 is 84.2 decimals and the Charge 5 is 94 decimals. It's definitely gonna be at a higher price point but this thing is 120 decibels, fully waterproof, built like a tank, and very crisp with a 25 hour playback time. It also has auxiliary input. The only cons for me are that it doesn't have XLR input, USB C as a charge option, costs $400, and weighs 10 pounds. With that being said I don't see many scenarios where I will leave it at home in place of the charge 5 tbh. I can't wait to get a second one so I can run them in stereo! You definitely get what you pay for. Thanks for the sweet review and I would love to hear your take on the Turtlebox if you get a chance. Best wishes to ya! 🔊😎🤙

Feels like I made the best decision to buy a JBL instead of Sony recently, especially when it's now in a more discounted price. It's loud and well suited in various genres especially rock and metal. The downside is it doesn't have an AUX input unlike it's predecessor so when I'm using it with my Panasonic portable CD player, I bought recently a USB Bluetooth audio transmitter/receiver from Ugreen, connected to that while using JBL's power bank feature to power that, and it's all good.

Didn't expect Sony to make their mid size speaker worst. Sony's XB33 a lot better compare to Sony XE300. The design's quite bland unlike XB33 which has it's significant light show. and what's more it also has aux port going with it. Comparing it to JBL Charge 5, the Charge 5 easily outdone Sony's XE 300. JBL Charge 5 can handle it's low and highs at 87% volume while Sony XE300 had to go up to 100% volume just to keep up with JBL Charge 5. And aside from that Sony's XE300 sounds muffled compared to JBL Charge 5 sound clarity thanks to it 's 10W tweeter handling all the highs. While JBL Charge 5 does have a better balanced sound profile than the Sony's XE300, playing it at 100% volume makes compression artifacts quite noticeable. 🙇🏿♂️🙇🏿♂️🙇🏿♂️
