The bottom is not a subwoofer, it is actually a passive radiator / bass radiator. A bass radiator is basically a speaker without a magnet or coil, and it is not an active speaker driver, it moves by the airforce the transducer makes.

No, not the charge 3. I've only tested the jbl pulse speaker. I actually want to find a good Bose speaker. I want less base and more clarity. Lmk if you have a suggestion on something to try. This would be used for indoors while cleaning/relaxing.

The JBL pulse 4 is actually very loud and it has a lot of bass you just need to update it

Dear JBL I just bought 2 Pulse 4 speakers and was very excited to fire them up and use. The sound was great. The lights are great but now the bad news... the app. It’s awful. Nothing works properly on it and it drops out on Android (and iPhone) awfully. So I rushed to the store to download it again and it was there that I saw the reviews. OMG! Is all I can say. Hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of negative reviews. All citing the same problems going back years. So, my question is, why don’t you fix it. You are killing a terrific product with this awful awful app. What’s your response? What’s being done? Any reviewer who doesn’t mention this is being paid by JBL and not doing their job. It’s no surprise that comments are turned off on JBL channel.

Yes. You can cycle between 5 different light presets, or turn the lights off altogether. Turning off the lights will also significantly increase battery life!
