Expanding its lineup of emission-free buses, JBM Auto has introduced a brand-new 9-meter battery-electric bus to its 'ECO-LIFE' series. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 motor show last month, the ECO-LIFE e9 comes equipped with rechargeable lithium batteries facilitated by a rapid plug-in charging mechanism. At the event, the company also showcased its latest range of low-floor city buses, compliant with BS-VI standards, known as CITYLIFE.
Expressing his thoughts, Nishant Arya, Executive Director of the JBM Group, highlighted, "The addition of ECO-LIFE e9 broadens our electric bus offerings alongside its predecessor, the ECO-LIFE e12, launched at the previous Auto Expo. These models have been meticulously crafted and localized to align with the 'Make in India' initiative."
"We have internally developed the concept of 'well to wheel' in e-mobility, covering the entire spectrum from clean energy generation to sustainable consumption. Moreover, our buses adhere to the localization mandates outlined in FAME-II regulations. With countries worldwide emphasizing sustainable EV policies, India, upon achieving the FAME-II objectives, is poised to emerge among the top three nations globally in terms of e-vehicle adoption. This transition is projected to create approximately 10 million employment opportunities, fostering growth in the e-mobility sector and its ancillary industries," he elaborated.
Arya emphasized JBM Auto's commitment to offering comprehensive solutions within the e-bus domain, encompassing bus manufacturing, battery technology, and charging infrastructure. The company's manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh boast an annual production capacity of 2,000 units. Notably, ECO-LIFE buses feature a robust corrosion-resistant ladder frame structure, ensuring optimal strength while maintaining minimal weight to meet stringent safety standards for frontal, side, and rollover accidents. Additionally, these buses incorporate various utility enhancements, including a passenger information system (PIS) linked to GPS, vehicle health monitoring, battery management, and fire detection and suppression systems.
