To change the diaphragm it is not necessary to remove the carb. Actually in my case the cleaning and diaphragm change could have been done with the carb in place but:
- I didn't know what will I find
- I want to change the cylinder head inlet rubbers
- I had constant issues with carb sync and I want to get over it so a deep inspection is required

Hi! May I ask you how to look for the tool you used to remove the choke cables from the carburettor?

Hello, I'm afraid I don't really understand you. I used a bent fork wrench (size 10) as it is shown on the video. Only trick what is not on the video was that to start it to turn I've used a water pump plier too with the fork wrench. Does it help?

May I ask how did you notice that the diaprhagm was worn out ?

Hi, there was no any sign if it is worn or not. But as I've mentioned I had constant issues with the sync. I was able to set it and after that the bike was excellent from vibration point of view but sometimes it took for 5 minutes, sometimes for an hour and then it got as bad as it was earlier. That's why I wanted to take it apart. About the diaphragms....many guys on the forum have shared their experience that their diaphragms were worn. We concluded that after a certain age of the bike it is worth to check he diaphragms because most likely they have some holes. The older the worst. Many of us didn't realize any problem. If you check my related video you can see how bad it was and still there was no any sign. Very few noticed power loss, max speed drop but their diaphragms were like emmental cheese. Any of my rubber sealing were as elastic as plastic so it is no wonder that the diaphragms were so crap...swimming in petrol for so many years.
