I don't understand why the Cube is more expensive than the MagGo. Isn't the MagGo considered slightly better since it's using the new Qi2 standard?
@JCKRGB8 ай бұрын
I think for a couple reasons. The Cube is MagSafe certified and companies need to pay to be in Apple’s Made for iPhone program. Qi2 is based off MagSafe but it’s now an open standard so no fee for Apple. And also, the Cube is a lot heavier. It feels like there’s a big chunk of metal inside to keep it weighted down on the desk which could also add to the cost. Could be wrong, but those are my thoughts! ✌🏻

Thanks. This is one of the very few comparisons of these two units, and I've been struggling to figure out which to buy. Doesn't help that Anker's site doesn't even list the specs for "the cube". Towards the bottom of the page it says the Max Output for the Apple Watch charger is 5W. 7.5W is needed for what Apple calls Fast Charging. I have a Series 5 🥲 so I’ve not been able to properly test it, but based on the specs it doesn’t support what Apple calls Fast Charging ✌🏻

@@JCKRGB Wow that's pretty duplicitous on Anker's part because they say "uses officially certified Apple fast charging technology" in the watch chargine section near the top. I ordered one this morning specifically after seeing that. Bummer to hear that they were being kinda shady about that.

I just returned my cube because it was charging my ultra 2 slower than the supplied apple cable, and the watch was getting significantly hotter on the cube charger. I bought the newer MagGo thinking it supported fast charging for the watch (like the cube) with its 40w brick (versus 30w for the cube). If it doesn’t support fast charging I’ll have to do some testing to see if the older cube is the better fit.

On Anker’s website, it says the mag go “Officially Certified Fast Charging for Apple Watch Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station uses officially certified Apple fast charging technology. This ensures your Apple Watch can reach 47% with just a short 30 minutes charge.” Is that not the same as apple’s fast charging?
@JCKRGB8 ай бұрын
If you scroll down to the specs it has the Max output for each charger, 15W for the Qi2, 5W for the Qi, and 5W for the Watch. Apple says 7.5W fast charging for Series 7 and later should get it from 0 to 80% in about 45mins. support.apple.com/en-gb/102454 Anker’s using a different time scale but it doesn’t look like it would lineup with hitting 80% after 45mins if it’s taking 30 mins to get to 47%. Especially as charging tends to slow down after 50% My Series 5 doesn’t support fast charging and its battery is dying so I can’t properly test it 🥲Hope that helps! ✌🏻

I haven't yet bought any of the new Qi2 powerbanks but I bought the one generation earlier 533 10,000 Powerbank. It can be charged bloody SLOW and it does not even provide the 10,000 power. Can these be charged relatively quick? I would buy the new Qi2 10K powerbank but it costs a fortune and if it can be charged the same slow, I'm not gonna get it.
@JCKRGB8 ай бұрын
For the new Qi2 power banks, they’ll charge an iPhone faster as they now support 15W up from 7.5W. The input on the USB-C port is still 20W so it’ll recharge in about the same time. As for the 10,000mAh, there will always be some power lost through heat with wireless charging. And you can’t directly compare the mAh between a battery and device to know how many charges you’ll get as the different batteries have different volts and amps. I’m still testing the new Qi2 power banks but loving them so far - hopefully have more details in my next vid! ✌🏻
@NegyedMisi8 ай бұрын
@@JCKRGB The 533 works weird. My phone (S23+) says it takes about 40 mins to charge from 20 to 100% but the powerbank says it takes 50 minutes juice left. So charging a 5000 mAh battery is all the capacity it has. That is not power loss, it is not efficient at all. I love Anker but my PD charges do a better job.
