It depends, he's talking about creating a outside observer in your own mind, catching your behaviour and actions is difficult but after many years I was able to do it but that outside observer doesn't have all the power, don't get obsessed with catching yourself doing things. You need a balance, humans are good at finding patterns but what about the patterns in between

He's dead right about ego. I feel like I became a real man when I let ego go. Not completely, but choosing to have an ego about true things. Not money, celebrity, or to be better than the next man. But ego about being a good person, husband, father, friend. Nothing superficial can shake me because ego doesn't control me. The ego will have you chasing things that don't really exist but give you a false hope. Once you connect to your inner self and let it go your only moved by real things and a new improved, realistic person emerges.

I can still remember the moment that I stumbled upon J. Cole. It was 4/20/2018 the release of K.O.D. I was just chillin in my room and saw in spotify that J. Cole released a new album, and I listened to it. After like an hour, I was shocked cause it opened my eyes on how big people's problems are. As a 17 year old kid back in 2018, I was just living every single day in my comfort zone. But when I heard the song Brackets, it gave me this opportunity to like look at other people as human without judgement. Craved for more lessons and I started streaming J. Cole's songs. Stumbled upon Apparently, Change, False Prophets, etc. these helped me to grow internally as a young man. I just wish that someday I could like tell Cole how his music constantly reminds how amazing life is despite its difficulty. I'm now 20 years old and I still apply the discipline and lessons that I got from Cole's music.

@@Ttt..2434 He said that line in response to Kanye during that time when Kanye was like black people accepted slavery or whatever. Thats what he was referring to. Thats why he made false prophets saying that Kanye is just continously rambling on and becoming something other than what he set out to be which was the best hip hop artist. Thats why he said he wishes Kanye would stop his antics and just get back to making good music. But that won't happen because the world has moved on and so has Kanye. This is what he was referring to when he said this line. The reason why I don't think its fire is because it literally makes no sense. Ego was not affect kanye's thinking. It was his insecurities.

kanye has always been egotistical, he admitted it in his music a long time ago. Its just now gone out of control. if you watched the charlamagne interview, kanye's doesnt even fullly understand trump's politics- he simply likes Trump because its a reflection of himself- the egotistical, wild, uncontrollable nature. The man promotes free thought, but he doesn't actually sit with them and actually analyze it, he just blurts it out because his ego is that large and believes he cant be contained.

I am a few months into therapy started getting dark, depressed and suicidal ideation around December. Yesterday celebrated my 27th birthday and someone asked me “what Cole album do you want to listen to?“ I replied KOD. This album has been healing, encouraging and supportive in a way as I deal with my stuff. There are many songs of Coles that are like this but this album definitely helps when I feel vulnerable, uncomfortable, or lost in those feelings, when I want to cope in ways that are hurtful to me. So to turn on this interview and his music has been helpful. Thankful for sure for J Cole. 🙏🏽

Mosab Awad i hella feel this! I changed my way of viewing things + became big on energy/vibes. I would constantly try venting to a close friend and mom about how i was feeling and they would look at me like i was crazy.. even asked if i was on drugs. Took me months to realize that we were just on different levels. Im a young dude but i feel like 90% of society is just living in a fairytale because they let social media and money control them.

Hummer Simpson When we lose everything, we’re totally left alone with ourselves and that’s a true enlightenment if you allow that journey to manifest & unfold naturally it’s an awakening. It’s very painful but if you go through it, are open to the lessons and listen to everything not just words but all that surrounds you, examine your entire being you will receive the greatest spiritual awakening and reward. Love is from within yourself - the SELF, God gives us signs we need to open our eyes. Respect & blessings to you, glad to connect with a good spirit keep up your positive mentality 👌🏽👍🏽😊

I will forever connect to him and his music on a deep, personal level. I do music myself and people tell me all the time that my style reminds them of Cole and it’s not even me tryna be like him or sound like him because I have my own experiences that I share through my music, but it’s just the influence and the impact that he has on me.
