I'll be honest--when I heard a little bit about what Adonis Awakens would be, I was a little skeptical.
Not because I didn't think I would enjoy it, but it seemed like it could possibly be a little redundant in the context of Argos's previous release--Pallas Athene.
They are indeed united by their vibrant red color, as well as a prominent floral quality...however, Adonis Awakens is the classic example of how useless assumptions can be. This is something altogether different than I thought it would be.

Whenever I hear the word rose, I tend to write off a fragrance. On my skin, when a fragrance is rose dominant, that is all I can smell. For me, rose has to be a supporting note for it to work.

Adonis was fine, but I liked Palus Athenus the best! Pour Homme is good too! Triumph of Bacchus was too sweet, unless I over sprayed!

I'm really keen to try this house-- I'd never heard of them before I started watching your channel. Oh, I'm still laughing about Fort & Manle having 5 different stockists in Afghanistan but not a single one in the United Kingdom! :D Now, what I most enjoy about your approach to reviewing and showcasing fragrances is that you include your first impressions but then test the fragrance in practical application by wearing it out for a day or night before completing your review. Very thorough. I like to hear about the lifespan of the fragrance, how it's structured and how it's received out in the world as it changes and 'lives' through each stage of its designed timespan. Your experiences, comparisons, memories, storytelling are part of the magnetic charm of your reviews. Your reviews remind me of Jean Claude Ellena saying, "In a society where speed is everything, perfumes are judged in a couple of seconds, as if at a glance. The hastiness of these assessments upsets me: a perfume can only truly tell its story when its smelled and worn." Trust a jazz musician to 'get' fragrance. ;)

I just got my bottle in a couple of days ago. It’s a beautiful fragrance. If you could only pick one, this or signature rosè, what would it be? I think I’d go rosè, but I have a hard time not splurging on Argos fragrances.

I haven’t tried Adonis Awakens yet, but my favorite from the house would have to be Danae. I also have Pallas Athene which is gorgeous, it might lean a LITTLE feminine (just a little) but I’ve received compliments a couple of times while wearing Pallas. Everything from this house is extremely high quality, but my pick would be Danae, and I still HAVE to get Adonis.

Very good juice but I think the hype of the fragrance had me expecting a bit more complexity to the fragrance . I love Bacio, Danae and Pallas Athene but imo the rose in Lamar Kajal is what I was expecting In Adonis if that makes sense. I also wished the raspberry popped like it does in Bacio

I got my bottle a week ago over at The Scent Room in Dallas. Absolutely amazing and beautiful fragrance! It reminds me of those chewy candies that when you bite into the middle, flavored juice comes out. I know Starburst has those but lots of other companies did the same. I got a sample of this whenever I bought Gris Charnel the day prior, and it was so good I had to go back the next day and buy it lol. One of my top fragrances in my collection by far.

I’m ordering 2 Argos fragrances, Brivida Della Caccia and Baccus this week. I don’t know why I have pulled the trigger yet. I have had samples. I will definitely purchase a sample of Adonis…. Danae is a beautiful scent but it’s tooo sweet for my wearing, but so nice. Hopefully this comes off more masculine and less sweet.

Yes, you can wear whatever you want. You can do the same with your clothing. But you wouldn’t wear a sweater in the Summer, would you? While you could, there are simply better options. Same goes for fragrance. There are better scent profiles for the heat.

Justin, I find the dry down of Baccio Immortale to be very different from the opening. I found the opening to be a bit green and the dry down to be more fresh. Have you had any experience with this fragrance?

“I would not Wear this on a hot day” well, is 100 degree Texas heat ok? Lol, did it anyway! this is my favorite Argos. I have Femme, Triumph, Danae, and Pallas Athene. I love your take on it, but I kinda disagree with your thought about no freshness. I think it is deep with a Surprising bit a freshness. on the dry down, the sandalwood, is the best I’ve ever experienced. Always love your reviews and love hearing “my wife”
