Safety standards, different everywhere you go. For example here, they cease to exist. Zero PPE, one microscopic shard of hardened steel from that shaft being ground in your eye and it could be lights out for the rest of your live. Loose clothing loves to get sucked into high speed lathes before, depending on the strength of your buttons or your lathe, pulversing your entire body as you get pulled in by your shirt. No gloves and I'm guessing barefoot going off of other similar channels, speaks for itself. I wonder what the turn-around rate for a heavy lathe worker in India is. I'd either ask for a raise or seriously think about your own safety when working with immovable tools that can kill you in a heartbeat if you're careless. That lathe won't stop, it'll tear you apart around that shaft like you're made of pasta and it's a fork. Stay safe, please.

Mostly agreed, but please NEVER use gloves near rotating parts. The same risk als loose clothes.
