JCPenney Disney Store Buzz Lightyear Review

I noticed that this Buzz’s voice box takes Tim’s lines directly from the movie. It makes me wonder why they can’t do that with Tom’s lines for Woody.

I got this version of Buzz for Christmas. At first, I was really disappointed, because when I opened up the present, the box didn’t look like the spaceship. I know there’s a ton of versions of Buzz Lightyear out there and I was worried that I got an edition that didn’t have all the features, like pop out wings, etc. Well, I was more than pleased! I love the voice box on this thing. I don’t even think I’m gonna worry about buying a Disney store version, since I have this JCPenney Disney collection version. It almost comes off as a superior buzz. The only feature that’s missing is the exhaust lights, but I can totally forgive that for the amazing voice box and the inclusion of Andy’s name on the boot. It’s pretty perfect!

There was also another version of Disney collection buzz that had 11 phrases and the blue didn't do anything, that was supposed to be his Spanish but apparently you had to install the Spanish mode yourself

I'm glad this one's karate-chop action button is a sculpted turbine, I've seen other Buzzes (Buzzi?) that just have a sticker in that spot, and it looks really cheap!

I managed to get one without bonnie on the boot. He does have some minor imperfections such as some paint marks and stickers peeling slightly. overall he is worth it when your on a budget. Also the reason Thinkway didn't use the karate-chop action on their Buzz is because there wouldn't be much articulation on that arm so they decided not to do it. Update: I'm hoping on getting this Buzz soon so I could mod him

That’s weird, I didn’t even realize the new one removed the Spanish phrases. I have the older one that speaks English and Spanish, but I don’t think he has 30 phrases. He also has the same screw caps and the normal Disney Store versions. The head sculpt is the same though, which is a shame.

Toy companies have not done better then those 2 toys sadly. That’s why I made custom modified Buzz toys with the help of my friends to do a better job that toy companies refuse to do.

To be honest, I have always wanted to get a movie accurate woody from the Disney store or just in general. I also like Buzz, but I prefer woody. But my brother would get Buzz and we would play together. But I have never been able to go to Disney world cause of school and Covid and work stuff. The truth is how I got this toy is because before I even bought him, I was convinced. I was watching collectorsunite review this buzz, that's how I got convinced. I was convinced because of the gimics like the karate chop action convinced me to buy him I never had that on mine from when I a kid, I had the old Hasbro utility belt deluxe flying buzz from when I was a kid. & Another thing mine didn't have was the wrist communicator. Hasbro or thinkway didn't know how to make those gimics yet at the time I wish I still had my original toy story childhood toys, instead of getting rid of them. But I was getting out of toy story and getting into other things. It's a switch on & off situation with me. I get convinced into one thing then for awhile I switch back to something else. I still care bout all my toys though.

I still wish I had them. They go for a lot of money now & are rare to find. Every one of them are. Well as long as they been properly replaced but (Kind of..) retrieved back into my collection of other things I don't need to worry about it after. I still wish I kept the buzz & woody & Rex from my childhood though. I had a different woody too. & I had bullseye but I never had Jesse. Maybe one of these days I'll get Rex & bullseye & a Jesse into the assortment. I also am thinking of getting in zurg too. Because I have buzz. I thought of this idea for a bad guy imposter buzz lightyear. I'm still in the concepts of creating him, but imposter buzz is the bad guy buzz that tries to replace Andy's buzz in my toy story 4 story.

My buzz lightyear toy I am favorite of. And he's even sitting on my pillow right now next to mattel roundup fun woody with Andy on the bottom of his boot. There is a variant woody out there from Mattel with Andy on the bottom. I got him in San Diego on my vacation weeks & a month ago. At a target down there. I'm kind of thinking why doesn't mattel produce a roundup fun Jesse or bullseye too? To go alongside my 12 inch woody and buzz. That looks perfect right there. Full arrange of half of the toy story toys because I've got slinky & Mr potato head too & a soft plush hamm Minecraft pig & a t Rex not Rex from toy story but Jurassic world. I need to find Ms potato head if I got Mr potato head. Yes they're the retro toys releases of older toys from back then. Slinky and potato head.
