JD 800C Removing Pavement

Another company was supposed to come mill out the pavement tuesday (6 hours) so we could move the road over and rough grade everything. They literally got 3 1/2 feet and the miller broke. Now (wednesday) they are renting a 800C from an underground crew to load it all out in 2 days. So only 3 days behind!

One of the main reasons is because the 800C was already on site, and only about 300m away. To bring in a smaller machine just for a day or two would cost more in trucking then it would make doing the work, hence their decision. One of the reasons I make an effort to get all these videos is because I know most people find a 45 ton machine "big" so I like to share what I get to see. Thanks for the comment!

vantagetes I think it is the right machine for the job, although it is just asphalt. I do like the sight line across the truck. Why does he slam the slewing brake so much like halfway around he slows hard? I know this was so many years ago that you probably don't remember shooting it.

Nope they just peeled the pavement off for us and then we put our scrapers in to remove the dirt. The developer didn't want pavement (or at least a lot of it, small pieces here and there were fine) going into the fill.

John Deere, Hitachi, Cat, Komatsu, Doosan, Case, Link Belt, doesn't matter whose name is on it, when you get that big, they are ALL impressive!

Our 850 was busy loading trucks, and we weren't going to park the trucks and loose that revenue to play around in the pavement =p

Would help if they had a small dozer to push the loose pavement back in range of the bucket but if you don't, you work with what you have.

operated a jd800 for a while. they are pretty much hitachis but deere put their own engine in it which is terrible.

Awesome Earthmovers wrong. The 800 is an Isuzu engine.

@@Deere2154D Deere uses Isuzu in all their big stuff the 450 600 and 800 all have them it's technically a shared design by Deere with Isuzu

Our 800C was at another site and our 850D was loading trucks. Not much point in losing dirt revenue to make a little hourly work for a hoe that was already busy. The pavement removel wasn't our project, it just happened to be going on right next to us so I got a video.

Man that is one gigant machine to remowe pavement with =O =O And when watching this guy taking half buckets with that fuel consumption, it makes me sad... You could do the same with a 35ton machine :D But if the company didn't have anything else awailable at the moment, then it's understandable! but i bet they could have rented a 35ton machine for the price of the transportation of that beast :D Here in Finland a 45 ton machine is allready "big" on road building sites...

Ok! If only 300m away its quite clear why they brought in this beast!! They should just have designed a bucket that is as big as the truck that it loads, haha! Keep sharing! The dozer videos from inside is also awesome!

We only do earth moving Popcorn, no underground or milling. If you wanna pay us to use a D10 to rip it and then load it out with our hoe by the hour, of course we will do it but a 8yd 385 bucket doesnt fit in the back of a road truck =p

Considering the size of the company who was to do the milling I have no idea why they couldnt bring another one over or rent one. But hey, not my company!
