I haven't been able to find hardly anything on Eddie Hazel, I didn't know what a great musician he was until I watched a old Parliament Funkadelic video, appreciate the break down of his playing style!

The guitarist in the parliament and funkadelics were over looked by most. Good to hear that Eddie was an inspiration. Eddie and Michael Hampton were amazing!!!

I will never forget the night I met Eddie and George on an elevator here in Boston with 2 of my friends one of those dudes whose stage name is Ritchie Rich is still friends with George until this day he also introduced me to Micheal Hampton who although I loved Eddie, I spent sleepless night trying to shed Micheal, I still have the photo of Mike Hampton and I at a Berklee College of Music celebration of Funkadelic music.

You can thank Sam Phillips for the tape echo. He invented it at Memphis Recording Services, aka Sun. Btw thanks for doing this. Eddie is incredibly underrated. I totally agree with you about the first four funkadelic albums. Although I think they were dropping too much acid when they mixed “Free Your Mind…”

Great video, man. Eddie actually isn't on the Cosmic Slop album. That's Ron and Garry on that album. A lot of the playing on the first Funkadelic album is actually members of the Funk Brothers. Eddie and the rest of the Funkadelic band aren't actually on that much of that first album. I'm pretty sure it's Ray Monette playing that part you're doing on "I Got a Thing".
@garylmullen12 жыл бұрын
@CaptainRaab just been reading about the first album. You're right. I also read that George would arrive with recordings of live shows for the Motown Guys to copy, so somewhere there are/were versions of these tracks with the original Funkadelics on them. Would be mindblowing to hear for sure

The BLM badge on the strap takes TrueFire in a political direction I haven't seen of it before.

I’m black, I don’t care for BLM organization, I also don’t care when people wear badges with BLM. It’s The most American thing to be free to express your political ideals as long as it doesn’t infringe on the rights of others
