Vance makes an important point about Europe. The Europeans are our friends, but that doesn’t mean we should have the primary responsibility for defending their continent. Do other nations feel responsible for protecting our country? If we were attacked our allies would HELP us but they aren’t spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year to defend the US. They don’t have troops stationed in our country to defend our borders. We don’t consider them isolationists for that - we simply consider it OUR responsibility to defend our homeland. This is part of what Trump has been talking about for the last 50 years and it’s especially important now considering we have a national debt that’s $36T and rising fast. We’re borrowing money from China, and printing money that is causing inflation, to defend other countries that are prosperous enough to provide for their own defense. It’s crazy.
