That won’t work 1. Kakuzu would’ve prevent them from leaving the battlefield. 2. The Ritual cannot be stopped because Hidan already have Azuma’s blood. He can simply make a new circle again.

Hidan only stabbed himself in the chest against the jinchuuriki because of his religion. It had nothing to do with him defeating her. She was already defeated. Also they can't kill the jinchuurikis because they have to extract their powers. He did the same thing after his fight against Chiruku. The 2 tail jinchuuriku was just a bum who coulnd't handle them two.

Due to Voodoo dolls, most viewers will understand the situation immediately, so sometimes, it feels like the characters are slow (also Anime time!). However, only someone as observant as Shikamaru could break down all the mechanics of the jutsu. The Akatsuki teams are balanced well in multiple ways. We can use Hidan and Kakuzu as an example. Their abilities generally work really well together: Hidan is immortal but otherwise relatively weak, and Kakuzu is a physical powerhouse with the ability to fix Hidan's body. At least one of the members is always the intelligent one to keep the other in check: Kakuzu is very observant while Hidan is a brash idiot. Their personalities must also mesh in some way: Hidan and Kakuzu hate each other since one's a religious zealot and the other's a greedy cynic, but only Hidan can handle Kakuzu's murderous rage. These traits are true for all the teams in the Akatsuki, showing the leader's (and Kishimoto's) foresight and planning skills. I think you guys will enjoy seeing how the rest of these teams work together. A lot of people give Kotetsu and Izumo shit for not doing well in this fight. The two are just Chuunin, so they're honestly not that strong. They were also staying back to protect Shikamaru since losing the strategist is a surefire way to die in a fight. Nevertheless, the two are in way over their heads against the Akatsuki. The Akatsuki are S-ranked Kage-level threats and above even elite Jounin in terms of strength.

Im sure it's supposed to be permanent as long as the ritual as not been finished, Kishimoto had time constraints at the time of this arc and was coming down with bad health too. In the Storm games the diagram works like that so in a way through its videogame medium it got explored pretty well, and sure it could purely be for gameplay purposes but ill stand with my statement.
