The only reason Boruto wasn't caught in the last round is because he is known for his multiple chakra natures and he is the son of Naruto who is obviously op. They don't really think to question it. Love watching the new gen fight a particular stand out character being Shinki in this arc. The ninja tool is really holding Boruto back, everything he did in this match with the ninja tool is something he can do, Sasuke literally spent the time training him to curve a shuriken before the matches. Boruto isn't in the best minds mindspace right now and that's why he keeps falling back to the tool despite his own abilities. Sarada is obviously a one punch man fan girl, her punches are always satisfying to see.

In the world of the Shinobi people don't listen to those without power. The only time Naruto has properly interacted with Boruto since becoming Hokage is after Boruto gained power by cheating. So to Boruto, having that level of power will get him noticed and heard. It's actually sort of similar to Sasuke and the Curse Mark.

Naruto is the one in charge of assigning teams, he's the one who put Boruto and Sarada together. He probably put Mitsuki with them because he has more trust that Boruto and Sarada would handle Mitsuki if he went rogue, rather than team him with fodder genin.

Boruto is going through the typical genius phase, his mindset is “i can learn whatever this tool can do, its just that its here now why train” not realizing everyones hardwork catches up to his genius. But later on he literally trained and learned and did every tool cheat he used in this chunnin exams to prove a point
