When Devi starts cooking I love it!l Also, regarding Sengoku's word, I personally believe there were some truth to them. Are we sure WB did not want Ace to be Pirate King ? Now, thinking about it, Who did Roger say will find the One Piece ? His son, Ace... Keeping in mind now how WB knew the story and was dying, because he was old and sick (just like Roger) was he going to give the crew to Marco? I believe WB indeed wanted Ace to be in that position... Also because he believed Ace was "that figure"... It does not make his love for Ace any less, but there were bigger things at play : The One Piece itself... I think WB always wanted Ace to be Pirate King and that Joyboy figure, but he realized mid-fight in Marineford, like he told Teech, that it was not actually Ace

It could have been Ace, but ace didnt want to be joyboy, Ace wanted to be whitebeard. Whitebeard on the other hand clearly was grooming him into a successor, ace was strong but he was probably not strong enough to be at the same post as Oden, maybe WB's crew has the weakest top 3, but i doubt, i think their true 2nd was either thatch or Vista, but he put Ace in the spot he kept empty since oden left

You guys narrowed it down to the Akazaya Nine during this discussion, but then went back to Shinobu😆 Her suspecting Law really dug its claws under your skin, right? Kaido really made people from Wano hate pirates, if they didn't already. I think you'll be of a different opinion soon, though it might not be until *that time* when things become completely clear. Strangely, the hour of legend makes it nearly impossible to keep faith in just about any prediction of this situation, and it got me waffling. I think it was shortly after the end of the flashback when I caught up to the anime. There are some terrific ones coming up!

Good point. Kin'emon was even more of a pirate hater than Shinobu was when they first met him, lol. He was probably collectively blaming all pirates for Oden being away all those years. 😅 I was trying to think of it like a Kabuki play and-- once I really started to focus on it (which I kept getting distracted from until later)-- it made it pretty obvious who the spy would be. The best clue for narrowing down the culprit though was that someone even betrayed Raizou hiding at Zou, and on top of that even gave them a way of reaching the current location of Zunesha.

Oden should have known, he was FAR too naive, his biggest fear was that his battle would break into total war and claim the life of hundreds, pretty much the entire country was in hostage situation, and he played right into their hands allowing the threat of Kaido and Orochi to grow, sometimes sacrifices are necessary

It's hard to feel sympathy for Oden. Only a fool would trust a snake like Orochi AND Kaido and leave the country in their hands. He also made a dumb logical decision of letting Kaido grow in power for 5 years. It's hard to consider Oden "cool" like Whitebeard or Roger or even Zoro mainly because of this blunder.

This is what I love One Piece because there is no way I can watch all of what Oden did and say he is not cool because of that Blunder. That blunder, that foolishness is what makes him human to me... Those imperfections do not delete all the cool moments, Oden changing cities and feeding people because of one blunder. To me, those characters are the coolest. Finding hard to have sympathy after all he did is interesting...

Well he make decisions in a state of anger and fear when he saw his people got kidnapped. He wasn't thinking clearly. Nobody told him what he have to do in that moment, he just doing what he thinks right. Even what he did was wrong, he redeem his mistake by fight or sacrifice for his own people. I think he still cool character for what he done to people of Kuri and take responsibility from his blunder.
