Haha it’s going to be a little rocket. My engine now has around 120k miles so it’s on its way out anyways. Might as well put a proven engine in it 🤘

Those AE86s are USDM Corolla GT-S (at least the body trim suggests so)...so not the typical AE86 we see here in Japan. I suppose the military personnel brought over their cars ? Okinawa went to RHD 1978 or somethng. So all cars sold by Japanese manufacturers after the war until then were LHD and were typically models destined to the US or other LHD markets (thus why the Corolla KE26V wagon is LHD). This doesn't explain why the AE86s look like USDM variants though.
