Not only is the first generation Type-R Civic rare in North America, but it is also one of the most impressive front wheel drive vehicles ever made for public consumption. This particular example has a 1.8L stroker engine under the hood, making quite a bit more power than a stock '99 Type-R. Even to this day, people, friends, etc will look at my em1 civic si (my 1st & current Honda project) and hate or wonder why I love it so much. Then they see me shaming camaro ss' at the track. The heritage of honda racing and design theory can truly be felt when driving a well-sorted honda.....and it's bliss!

Why do ALL automotive KZbin channels ruin such good intro/wide/rolling shots of the cars they review with such abominable music? Why not just let the sound of the engine be the soundtrack? It's kind of cringey and lowers the overall quality of the content. The video doesn't even start until 3:10 in, and the intro shots would have been enjoyable if the sound of the engine was the only thing coming through.

@@modmotor6781 very clean interior, but I keep her stock looking. Only giveaway is the lowered height, and lcas from the rear. I have a vibrant performance muffler but I went with a black oval shaped one to keep it more low key. I admit this is probably why it hasnt been fucked with.

Love the EP's. Definitely agree the best Type R Civic is the first one. Next of course DC2 Teg (Integra) Type R. And then Accord Type R (aka RSX was the usdm equivalent, and the previous ones we never got in the US, which would be the Euro Accord R Blue top), and rounding it off NSX.
