Get rid of the handle, like you said... anything DC deserves carbon fiber... I put a ZPI 92mm on my Exsence DCs and love them.

I'm still trying to decide which setup I'm going to put it on. Was thinking jerkbait rod and putting it on the new Orochi XX 6'11 jerkbait special rod or the Destroyer OneTen jerkbait rod... if it ends up on a jerkbait setup of course

this reel is made for jerkbaits and smaller topwater IMO, they are just so small and light that you can work those lures all day long with a lightweight rod. If you have a rod under 7 ft thats around 3.5 oz then you will have near perfect balance. Mines on a 6'8 MS-X

if i may offer help, the sensor is basically a vrs = variable reluctance sensor....basically when spun it creates an ac voltage. if watched on a labscope you would see a AC sine wave. Now different speeds would change the frequency of the sine wave, which also could be seen on a labscope. So imagine you bomb a cast into wind and reel spools up fast then wind catches lure the reel would apply brakes based on the frequency change. exactly how anti lock brakes on cars work. keep in mind some cars use hall effect sensor instead of vrs. hall effect would require a reference voltage therfore if was in a reel would need a battery. And fyi halleffect produces a square wave on off digital signal

THE REEL TEST so I just purchased a scorpion DC and it came heavy lubed or thick oiled in the worm gear and the little disc that you turn to adjust on the out side plait is this normal also the reel is kind of covered with the oil lube ?

that's serious Hi Tec stuff right there!! would this MT-DC or Bantam MGL or new Aldebaran 30 be best for soft plastics on jig heads and small 7cm 5-12gram lures please!! iv got a 2016 Aldebaran bfs xg whot I use for my light plastics for perch so looking for something little better for next size/weight up!! but could also chuck the lighter stuff if wonted

Well it would be a rebadged Scorpion DC and if they ever sold it in the US it would be at least $350. So I doubt its going to happen unless a bunch of people let Shimano know theres a big enough demand for it

the best one you can afford :) the metanium is a little lighter but the scorpion is smaller.

i have a pair of the scorpion 100 dc reels, overall satisfied...prolly wont buy anymore dc reels , its not my thing, but that is based on just casting in field, not really fished yet. They do work but like reeltest says its not end all be all if forget thumb

Hello from Brasil! just found your channel and i have to say that you have great content about reels here, thank you ! im watching old and new videos and it is very informative. bit boring when u measure by walking all the castings, why not put some colored flags on each distance?.....Here we have a brand named " marine sports", REALLY popular here, they have some really high quality reels (carbon fiber body and so, ) specialy "venator" series and "black widow" series ..So if u could put some of this on test against whatever u have in hand, it will be amazing, and maybe you get some subs from brazil too...great job so far, thank you for walking that much :D
