Hey Randy . Thats a nice collection of stream rods you have there . I definitely want a Major Craft glass rod . You mentioned a few times in your videos about ordering 2 piece rods and not getting hit by customs . Every single purchase i have made out of Japan , including from Digitaka , i get hit by customs . Every single time . It doesnt matter if its a 2 piece rod , a reel , free shipping . I dont know if its because im in the UK or what . What trick am i missing here ? I would love to know . Great video as always and excited to see what new rod you have coming . Sore lip em all !!!

Are the fiberglass rods significantly less sensitive than carbon fiber rods? Could you mention what you see as a couple of plusses and minuses of fiberglass Vs. carbon fiber. Thanks!

They are significantly less sensitive....the plus is they cast better....and they are more forgiving than graphite rods.

Hey Randy - I'm debating if my first JDM rod should be an Area or a Stream trout rod. I do more "Area" type fishing but plan to explore local streams with some current and would like to be able to hit both. Is there any compromise or should I just plan to get a couple of these over time and go first with an Area rod"? thanks!

Area rods are much more sensitive that stream rods. But area rods do not shine landing larger trout in current. I would get an area then get a stream.

Smaller stocked trout aren't big fans of heavy sinking native minnows. I do most of my damage on wild, and holdover trout in a setting with swift current.

Trying to decide between major craft L or UL stream rod and a rayz L or LL. Main concern with the major craft is I have heard they are stiff and I don’t want another rod that won’t load up with baits around 4.5-6g. What is your experience with casting performance on the stiffer major craft rods?

Thanks for watching. Casting is great with the 5' 1" L model....very accurate. The Major Craft stream rods are extremely rigid...even the UL models. I am happy with the Major Craft rods for the price paid....but if money was not an issue I would have sprung for the 5' 1" Rayaz Spectra in LL.
