I am actually quite proud of this one. The fact that he has 300+ months worth of food storage makes for some powerful negotiation tools when dealing with starving countries.

Firstly, thanks @JD_Plays for touring my island and the praise and help has been great boost for me as a player. Any questions or tips please comment away and I'll try and answer them The four reasons why I created so much hoarding/storage were a) I hated when something like consumer electronics suddenly ran out because electronics iii suddenly ran out ... All the way to not having enough copper ore so by the time I get ore going it would take years for it to trickle down to getting laptops to my people. Medical supplies was a constant problem too so large buffers gave me lag time to fix problems before they became as issue - run out of ammonia, no probs I got years worth of fert 2 before it becomes a problem. 2) I wanted the option to rip out a process and rebuild it without worrying about supply useful for oil production as that is the third version so having diesel stocked up gave me time to design and rebuild. iii) I wanted to get everything mined off my island so I can use it all and in the case of oil (which I've now used up) and uranium I wanted to get everything off my other islands so then I have time to work out contracts and start building for them. Lastly) it smooths out the peeks and troughs of production, esp chemicals from oil - there's been times I've had a shortage of fuel gas and ammonia and times where oil prod stops when it jams up so having a pool of tanks I can dump into and use as reserves for when I don't produce much fuel has been handy. Side note: I'm very health conscious for my citizens so no toxic dumps into the air or ocean not even co2 which compacts down nicely to graphite. Can't do anything with the pollution from exhaust scrubbers though.

This is something I use to provide when touring Factorio Maps, but as the videos get watched months and years later it meant I ended up having to host the maps myself, which doesn't sound to bad till you have toured a stack of them and you have a half a gigabyte of webspace being kept for just past maps You could try reaching out to Psyper directly on Discord, he is active on my Discord server discord.gg/jdplays

Hording canola is a good thing, problem with it you can only make cocking oil out of it. Did you know that a dock 4 need more room then dock 6/8? Ya this hoarding is gone to far

3:00 I'm also on my first play through and on this map, and I think hoarding might be a new player thing? :P 15:20 as a fellow newb at the game, I an jelly of that much oil being stored. One takeaway I'm doing here now... make piers... don't just dump in the ocean. lol

I don't know how to keep something like this organized, anybody have any tips on how they do it? I always lose interest like mid game because I can't keep track of everything and keep running out and it just feels like I'm running around putting out fires rather then making progress.

when you talking about walls and sliding and using the word sheer you are referring to the "angle of repose" - the angle that the plane of contact between two bodies makes with the horizontal when the upper body is just on the point of sliding
