These megastructures are reminding me of what I was designing for Beltex. They were very much end of game layouts. If you knew ahead of time that this area was not going to flood when the temperature rose, would you have built here earlier? I mean, you landed on the planet from orbit, so detailed surveys and topological maps would have been made before Day 1. On a second playthrough, it might be worth it to quickly look around the planet to find these high spots, and build these massive works. The only challenge would be finding corridors between the mountains that will not flood. Now, I probably do not have enough stamina to watch the final episode. I already nodded off after the first 20 minutes, so I wasted an extra 35 minutes watching content that I missed the first time. I will wait until tomorrow, even though you will be streaming when I wake up in the morning.

I'm liking the mega production builds :D Was wondering when you'd do it lol But, I've thought about it, and it looks like this game would be better mining out megatons of resources, using the storages to hold it all, then after you have most the planet mined, THEN using the materials to start terraforming the planet. you'd get A LOT more resources stored without flooding

This is a option, but honestly I don't think its needed. There is no shortage of resources on the map hence I didn't save anything in fact I think I wasted a lot of resources

There's a strategy you can do where you hold off warming the planet (above -20C) until you've mined out all mineral deposits in the low altitudes (ocean basins). Essentially never go past level 11 until you've shipped (via rail) all low-mined resources to a higher altitude. I'm already trying this in my current playthrough and it's helping a LOT!

Thank you the partner has been forced to do the intros, and always complains about my hastily typing and grammatical errors lol But I think they add a lot to these lets plays so if you miss a episode its not the end of the world, and you can come back for a quick recap.

This is the absolute biggest case of overbuilding I've ever seen you do in any game! 😝 It's fantastic! And I will definitely not replicate it, fearing my computer will melt... 🤣 Love this series!

'ello, might worth pointing out that the path finding does not like choices, don't get me wrong, I like the look just like you do, but each loop'y'loop of your's is wrecking the performance like a lot, used or unused. I switched to "in city production" since my pc isn't as beefy as yours, currently at 3.8 mio peeps with 112 trains total. :D

I think the game is lacking a LOT of optimisations. First one being that the trains Pick a path and never re-path so there is no pathfinding in the game, except when first adding a route. Hence I went with the fancy design. I have no idea how many trains I have, I expect its over 500 and I expect when done ill have over 1K.

with all the production needed, i would think there should be some faster assembler/factorys or at least some copy/mirror/paste tools to make building those mega builds less of a clickfest. Also for resources a dragable-area or autofill tool(with optional replace or only free spaces), doing the typewriter for 10-15 lines of resourcepatch seems so pointless.
