Hey local comment here. We appreciate your business when you come and visit. Northwest Florida truly is one the most beautiful places on Earth and everyone should experience it. We ask that you help us keep it beautiful when our population increases 10 fold during tourist season. Please do not litter, it breaks our hearts to see our beautiful beaches trashed. Please do not drive under the influence, this breaks our hearts even more to know someone will never return from their vacation here to their families. All the other tourist stuff we are equipped to handle. Stay safe and keep Okaloosa beautiful. Thank you.

Destin is beautiful but lots of tourists. I shop at the outlets. When I want a more quiet beach I go to Navarre or Pensacola Beach equally stunning beaches. People don’t realize there is miles and miles and miles of snow white sand pristine clean beaches in that area. Beautiful water too. Having been raised in Pensacola our summers were full of beach experiences. Minus the hurricanes, it really is like living in paradise having access to those beaches in Florida’s panhandle. But Florida’s full of beautiful beaches. I think the Panhandle has some of the best beaches though.
@JDSmith6 жыл бұрын
Mary Sherron couldn't agree more. Pretty much the stretch from Mexico Beach all the way to Pensacola is perfect. I think the attraction to Crab Island is that its the only sand bar that big down the whole stretch. Don't get me wrong there's sand bars all the way down, everywhere lol. Just not that large. And yes we have the most beautiful sand in the panhandle. Fun fact for ya, it comes from the Appalachian Mountains thru all the different rivers ending in the panhandle.
@dondasher586 жыл бұрын
Debbie B I grew up in Orlando and spent many many days at Daytona, New Smyrna and Cocoa Beach. Also Clearwater beach and Sanibel Island.....It was fun but now that I have been to Destin (spent some time there in July) area beaches I have to say the panhandle is the prettiest area of all. Awesome water to swim in and beautiful sand. We just got back from Pawleys Island in South Carolina a week ago and because the water wasn’t as clear and inviting I didn’t go in! Hahaha I am spoiled!
@SKC1936 жыл бұрын
Mary Sherron I agree! I live in Oklahoma but have been vacationing in Florida panhandle every year (sometimes more than once a year) since 1992. Navarre Beach is my favorite. Although it has become over populated since then. I’ve been all up & down the Atlantic & gulf coasts Including a month in the Keys. Also been to Oahu, the Hamptons, Montego Bay & Negril Jamaica, & Cozumel Mexico. Navarre Beach is still my favorite as far as the beach. We have been going to Cape San Blas for the last 10 years because it’s less crowded, no motels or bars & dogs are welcome on the beach.

Visited Destin for the first time this year in June. Normally go to St. George Island or PCB for a week every summer but decided to try something new this year. I was really excited to see the crystal clear water everyone talks about, however, the water was anything but clear the week we were down. Full of seaweed & had double red flags 3 of the 7 days. Traffic, OMG, traffic was an absolute nightmare!! We stayed at The Majestic Sun & just trying to get to Winn Dixie (2.2 miles from condo) was horrible!! I'd ❤ to come back after road construction is complete so that I can see more of the area.
