Jean-Bédel Bokassa: Africa's Craziest Dictator Who Made Himself Emperor

Of all the dictators that this lovely continent of Africa has had to endure, none can surpass the eccentric Jean-Bédel Bokassa who was the President of the Central African Republic.
In December 1976 Bokassa proclaimed himself the emperor of his country and changed his title to Emperor Bokassa I , he also changed the name of his country from the Central African Republic to the Central African Empire.
He was crowned a year later-in a coronation that emulated that of his personal, Napoleon I. This lavish coronation ceremony would cost more than $20 million, one third of the CAE's annual budget and all of France's aid money for that year.
It is estimated that Bokassa fathered 54 children by various lovers, including Romanian, Tunisian, Gabonese, French, Vietnamese, and Belgian ladies.

It's not even that the title had been assumed its the WAY he went about doing it. A dress uniform and a simple yet elegant ceremony would have been fine, as well as a basic Napoleonic-style throne and constitutional council to aide in his reign. This would have been a more thoughtful or (at least tolerable) event if anyone was going to do this at all.

What I remember is that after his overthrow human body parts were found in freezers in his palace. It was revealed by a number of people that these were enemies that he had cooked and eaten.

If I could maybe, I would become a dictator and steal as much money as I could, then quietly start setting up schools for young kids where all they could possibly need is provided. Studies heavy on science, math and engineering. Food housing and when graduated work to pay back some to the next generations of kids. How many houses, cars and women can a man need? Make an impact help humanity. Vanity and self indulgence is temporary, love and knowledge are forever. Maybe I'm a dreamer but I hope not the only one maybe one day we will jointly grow up and mature as a species, not likely.
