Netto: Stop spamming. Mycotoxins are bad, but there other plenty of other toxins--like fructose--that are also of concern. How much of an expert can you be if you can't even spell mycotoxin?!

Not to add to the confusion, however what about the variable of the Gene mutation HSD17B13 that protects the liver? Regeneron has the study.

The cause of fat liver disease is most the frutose , DR LUSTIG and group need consider this

Netto Fructose might be easier to cause fatty liver because it is mostly metabolized in the liver. However, even carbs/starch will cause fatty liver as proven by feeding excessive corn to ducks to make foie gras.

@@frankacuso I realize this is a year later, but the digestible carbohydrate in corn is 42-55% fructose, so...

@@patrickproctor3462 you might be thinking of HFCS which is not whole corn. It is a syrup from corn starch modification. They convert some glucose to make more fructose. The 42%-55% is how much percentage of fructose vs glucose in the HFCS product..see the link below. In syrup form, this is dangerous. In whole foods, higher glucose vs fructose ratio is more tolerable such as in whole corn. But even in whole foods, like banana, fructose is higher than glucose is a concern too. www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325315

@@frankacuso No, I'm thinking of good old Jersey Sweet Corn. Go ahead and measure it yourself. If you pop open the kernel and drain the raw juice, roughly half of the sugar molecules floating in it are fructose. Corn isn't fit for human consumption.

Did I hear that correctly? You produce less CO2 if you eat low Carb diet? What does this mean for Save the Planet plant based no Animal Products Vegan Diets?

"Why is this confusing?" (De novo lipogenisis) Because people are, clearly, experiencing cognitive dissonance since they've been told and have always believed ( or wanted to believe) fat made you fat. Yet, as a skinny person, I remember being told by a heavy person I needed to get a sugar solution I.V. to become less skinny. This, in 1983. I think we've always intuitively known sugar was the problem (the major fattening agent). It seems to be part of the perverse, contrary, human condition to resist the obvious and search for the unlikely, one in a million, pot of gold, unicorn, or alien in the cloud of fairy dust. Schwartz's vague and rambling apparent skepticism lacks credibility or sincerity in my view. Pretending to have scientific integrity just doesn't cut it when the evidence has been crystal clear for decades. We just all chose to ignore it, evidently.

Actually, sugar can make you lose weight. If you eat sugar, and nothing much else, the body uses up its stores to metabolize it, and you will lose weight faster than in total starvation. Of course, you will also still get diabetes, heart disease, etc. if you live long enough. This was discovered in the days of the sailing ships. Sailors learned that it was better for survival when shipwrecked to starve than touch the cane sugar in their stores. If you eat food + more sugar than your body can tolerate, you will gain weight if you have that tendency--not you, of course.

Stems from "common sense facts" vs scientific fact. Common sense tells you a calorie is just a calorie, when it's not. So the common sense would've back then that fat obviously make you FAT! Well the science was onboard, until now.

A little disappointing that only about 4 people in the audience chuckled at the "Of Mice and Men" reference. Nobody reads fine literature anymore I guess.
