Leclair and Rameau were the two geniuses of the late baroque music in France. This concerto has a typical french flavor., quite different from the Italian "vivacita" or from the science of German counterpoint.

Absolutely love Leclair! Can you do more from his Opus 5 please?

Wikipedia says: In 1758, after the break-up of his second marriage, Leclair purchased a small house in a dangerous Parisian neighborhood in the northern part of Le Marais near the old Temple, where he was found stabbed to death on October 23, 1764. Although the murder remains a mystery, there is a possibility that his ex-wife may have been behind it-her motive being financial gain-although suspicion also rests on his nephew, Guillaume-François Vial.

Leclair, classical music's oldest cold case. 🤔

@@ВОЛК-и5к Leclair was found stabbed to death allegedly by his wife or his nephew he disputed with. In an age without fingerprints or any modern detective devices to nail the miscreant, the police couldn't solve the case, and so it is to this day. Perhaps a Ouija board like Count Yorga would resolve it. 🗡
