Beyond words, brings tears, I'm 52....closer to the end than the beginning, love this song. And, you start thinking about what songs you would like played when you are laid to rest. This is one of them.

There was a tape included on the front of a ZX Spectrum mag in the UK that had a synth player program on it. This masterpiece was one of the tunes included but never credited. Took me years to find the name of it. Real version is slightly better than that Z80 rendition.

He is Maurice Jarre's son, the man who composed such brilliant film soundtracks as Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Witness, the Longest Day, etc etc... such a talented musician. I saw him in concert at La Défense, near Paris in the 80s. Unforgettable!

I remember hearing this in my dad's car when I was 5. It was the first song I can truly remember from that time. It blew me away and sounded like something from another planet at the time. Over 45 years and many synth songs through the decades later I truly believe this is the pioneer of all that music. It still sounds so fresh today.

I was 7 in 1977 and having a major existential crisis (I had just learned that we die and did not take it well). This song brings back that fear, as it has an eerie, lonely sound - but by God do I love it. It transcends time and space.

I heard this song in school assembly about 30 years ago. Something about it just captivated me. I couldn't get the song out my head, but could never find it to hear it again. After all this time, I was starting to think it didn't exist and was just a figment of my imagination or some kind of Mandela affect. Today it just randomly appeared in my recommended playlist and I almost cried. Takes me back to sitting on that cold wooden floor in assembly hearing it as a child. I remembered teachers who I had long forgotten. Their names and even what they were wearing. Isn't it amazing how a song can unlock memories like that.
