It took a while for me to realise that a lot of sequences on the Magnetic Fields album were delayed and repeated, fairly simple sequences but thrown about from left to right in the stereo field. Given that Overture was a slowed down Magnetic Fields 1, it was always one of my favourite pieces. Great cover.
@thhedk7 ай бұрын
He uses this kind of delay a lot in his music. In the first 3 albums he could only make the delay 347 ms because he used Revox B77 tape delay, so the RPM on the song was fixed ;)

Incredible, this track is spot on, just like listening to the maestro himself, all you need now is the Chinese lady to introduce you (He! He!). I thought that this piece would be hard for you to recreate, but you sailed through it & the instruments were perfect. 💯👍

Hmmm... You sure your name is Thomas and not Jean-Michel?!? Seriously awesome and I would love to hear how you did the first sound (Starting at 0:20 seconds): Lot of reverb/echo and bouncing it over the channels? Saw it was a Roland, but synth or midi keyboard? Oh, and many kudo's for leaving out the Chinese announcer...
@thhedk Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Nope Thomas is my name :) It's a quite simple sound I made in Reason with Left/right delay. Everything is made in Reason, so all keyboards are only show - the solo is played live though. Yes also I left out the boring drum part ;)
@MeanderingNL Жыл бұрын
@ThomasH Well, you have serious talent, not just replicating Jarre (Which is awesome), but also your own music: You should definitely get some music on Tidal and other platforms (if you haven't already). I hope you can find a good producer who helps you get the exposure your music deserves (but doesn't rip you off). I dabble around a bit with Ableton myself, but no talent here though ;)
@MeanderingNL Жыл бұрын
@@thhedk Ow, forgot: Kudo's for leaving out the original drums, I found those drums too invasive. Your combo is really nice and has this lovely cadence
