Jean-Pierre Léaud

Jean-Pierre Léaud (French; born 28 May 1944) is a French actor, best known for playing Antoine Doinel in François Truffaut's series of films about that character, beginning with The 400 Blows (Les Quatre Cents Coups, 1959). He also worked several times with Jean-Luc Godard and Aki Kaurismäki, as well as with other famous directors; Jean Cocteau, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bernardo Bertolucci, Catherine Breillat, Jerzy Skolimowski, Agnes Varda, Jacques Rivette, etc. He is a significant figure of the French New Wave.

I refer to Jean-Pierre Léaud as my "film school crush." When taking a GE course in cinema (no joke, it was catalogued as "CIN101"), I saw him in "Masculin Féminin" and fell for him hard. His presence onscreen always commanded attention and his moody, brooding demeanor added to his attractiveness. I've since seen several of his films and my admiration for him grows with each role.

He's gorgeous. When he was in 400 Blows, he reminded me of Christian Bale around the same age in Empire of the Sun. And he reminds me of Christian Bale in his 20-30s as well. Grew up just as handsome.
