And yet Barbara Eden really differentiates the two characters. She really did an amazing job pulling off Wicked Jeannie. You really feel like they’re two entirely different people.

At like seven years old in 1974when I watched this I couldn’t figure out why she looked so much like Jeannie. Now I realize what a great actress Barbara Eden is.. she was like the triple threat sing dance act., Much like Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret. I am figuring they lost all that because they did not think the show would last that long....in that they would have to explain themselves. Jeannie was once a mortal who was punished by the wicked blue djinn and made into a Genie who was kept in a bottle. But I saw an episode that her mother (or grand mother) was also a Genie, and now she has a sister who is also a Genie? Genies are entities(real but not real) & if she marries she either loses her powers or does not exist anymore. She had to remain the servant.
