Disney can kiss the hairiest part of my ass "legends" is the only true cannon, just because you bought the series doesn't mean you have the right to completly abolish so many years of in depth material which you DID NOT WRITE you did not create. You may physically own the series, but we the fans own its heart and soul and that's quite a bit more important... there is no life without heart and soul.

When we get around 2:06:00 in the excellent Darth Plagueis notes, we see one key element of canon/non-canon discussed, that of Force ghosts. Plagueis refers to ancient Jedi who became the first Force ghosts. In the official canon version as discussed by George Lucas in the Episode II commentary, the importance of Anakin’s fall when slaughtering the Sand People is that the atrocity “awakens” Qui-Gon Jinn, allowing him to return as the FIRST ghost born of the Force. This is why he does not vanish at death as Obi-Wan and Yoda will. Once awakened, Qui-Gon created the immortality formula and instructed them, all of it made possible by Anakin’s fall. And so, I love Qui-Gon so much, when I heard Plagueis tell this alternate legend, I instinctively rejected it. The new Disney canon appears to be backing Lucas on this issue.
@ChrisCaldwellO665 жыл бұрын
Steve Prellwitz I remember in the game “attack of the clones” Anakin speaks to the force ghost of Ulic-Qel Droma. George Lucas signed off on that. I love Lucas but he made stuff up on the fly forgetting something that happened before in his ownership of the canon. But, there’s always a bit of truth in legends!
@steveprellwitz17105 жыл бұрын
Chris Caldwell yes this is a real canon/non-canon problem, one of many now that everything pre-Disney has either been banished to LEGENDS status or just ignored as never having happened. That CLONES game and the PLAGUEIS novel are both “out” as far as the Mouse is concerned, and Lucas’s “Qui-Gon first” theory is now “the” truth. I’m fine with this decision because I love QGJ, but losing the excellent continuity established in the DP book is a damn shame.

WHY didn’t Disney use the contents of this book as source material for their sequel trilogy?!?! This sets up a more compelling set of villains than than the First Order, which popped out of nowhere with no explanation simply because the filmmakers wanted to recreate the Empire from the first movie.

@@KevsCollectibles i worked with KK's underlings. she has no agenda other than the borttom line. fan boys dont equal cash - they tend to steal content and whine about it. @@barnyardcidery7655 WRONG! Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau saved the Star Wars Franchise not Kathleen Kennedy. Your disdain for the 'fan boys' is delusional and disturbing considering it's them who made the franchise what it is today and are saving it now (Filoni and Faverau). Don't bite the hand that feeds you or you'll soon go hungry!
@barnyardcidery76554 жыл бұрын
@@KevsCollectibles Duder, I'm not going after you personally. And I agree with your point about Filoni (and his dumb nerdboy hat) & the grand swinger himself, Faverau. I was talking about from the business side, the person who brokered the deals that allowed all of this to happen. And I am only defending that I know first hand she has no political agenda. Rian J DOES and he proved it. Also, right as you may be that fan boys keep the flame of a franchise alive while the rest of the world has moved nto brighter lights, that doesn't change that most people who make the business of movies happen really hate fan boys. Because fan boys make writers and directors stress, destroy marketing campaigns before they've taken root, and tend to steal content. I speak with no venom my dude. I got into and left the movie industry because I was a fan boy and then that got squeezed out of me. You may think it's terrible, you may think the true fans deserve more respect. But I can assure you that for many, the opposite is true. They get a kick out of upsetting fan boys. Bc these are the same people that picked on fan boys in high school. And the content creators are just the nerds they're willing to deal with, for now. I didn't mean your literal head and blood guy. That is honestly a colloquialism thrown around in various incarnations in the business when I was a nobody lowly cog. I didn't mean for any of this to be personal. It's just space westerns man.

I’ve always wanted to write a story about the Sith Pure bloods 3000 years after the death of the last Sky Walker. Considering the actions that many siths performed they would discriminated against and mistreated. And whenever they spoke up about their mistreatment they would be scolded for their past and ignored. The story would be one of revolution were these siths who were forced into peace by their oppressors in fear that they would once rise again. They would live in poverty as beings sith pure blood would make it harder to get jobs and they would have no political standing. Even worse all of this would occur on their own planet. Which was conquered by the Jedi after the death of the last sith. I think would name the main character Amon. Like the God of wrath. The other sith pure bloods would try to find harmony through peaceful means and Amon would do this initially as well. Until one day when a group of Jedis decide to torture and murder his family due to their own hatred of Siths. Amon would reject the teachings of his peaceful family and follow the old ways of the sith after discovering a book in an old crumbling temple. He would create his own light-saber from the knowledge he found. Everyday he would see the Jedi be paraded around as heroes. The same Jedi who killed everyone he loved. He would see the civilians who stole his home planet enjoy the great wealth while his people were scorned for their past actions and forced to live in shacks were they starve. And everyday he grow more hateful and more powerful. He would focus on his training relentlessly to the point that he wouldn’t eat or sleep. Until he decides to sneak into the Jedi’s quarters and cut his throat. Due to the reputation of the siths even though there was no evidence a sith pure blood was the murderer they would all suffer collectively as a result. And even those who tried to argue against Amon’s call for violence would eventually seek his teachings. That’s all I have so far. I wish wasn’t so lazy or I’d actually make something more articulate. Also I know that the pureblood siths are extinct, but it’s just a cool idea. Doesn’t have to be canon.
