It is/was basically local OneDrive/Dropbox/etc. Put files in briefcase and then can sync files in original location and briefcase with one click.

I bought a boxed copy of Win XP and it includes the official CD a couple of years ago. I also received a boxed copy of Win NT 4.0 in 2016. There doesn't seem to be a Win 10 or Win 11. No manuals. No pamphlets. It is as if they never existed.

@@filipinordabest try not to think of it by political viewings. I believe OP was referring to his/her own personal life during that era. We only know our own lives lived. I myself would love to revisit the 80’s again. Was it politically perfect? Of course not, however my personal life was well during the time. In missing something we really only have our own personal memories to draw emotion from, so what have may have been a bad time for someone else does not negate the fact that others were happy simultaneously in their own lives.

Win 95 was the king of the desktop. The GUI is great and the same GUI was used in all versions of Windows until Win 8, which was very unpopular. MS doesn't seem to be adding useful features anymore. At least Win 7 had a search feature for the start menu. This is why I use KDE on Linux. It follows the Win 95 GUI.

@@louistournas120 You may not like their desktop environment or toolkit, but KDE simply doesn't support Wayland as well as Gnome does. Install Gnome and Wayland just works. Install KDE with Wayland, and you're favorite GUI terminal may no longer work, or this or that app may glitch out or refuse to run. etc.

yes. very soon came MMX - multimedia extentions, and computer became so viable in everydays works with video and sounds. then prices of CD-ROMs went down. Also 3D era and directX and direct3D came like next year. So cool to be alive then.

We could only afford Pentium 133 in late 1997. :( It was mistake I know, it was worth to pay for 166MMX and overclock it to 200 (almost always worked). But that's it, no information in that time, I didnt know even english.

By 2001 nobody would watch this. It was horribly obsolete by then. Technology moved far quicker and there had been windows 98, windows 98 se, windows me, and windows XP all released by 2001. "Old" systems, especially for a developer would have been on 98 at worst in 2001
