Here’s a name for the riff. Two steps forward two steps back. inspired by your two frets forward two frets shy. actually when I hear the riff it makes me think the daily hustle, getting up early in the morning, suit and tie, ham and cheese sandwich in the suitcase on the way to the office and tomorrow is exactly like today. Nice riff! There is an aspect of humor and dark comedy to it.

Really cool chord voicing - thanks for sharing! Reminds me of something that Lonnie Mack might have played. I also hear a hint of some cool vibrato there in the sound too or perhaps in your playing

I couldn't agree more about rhythm guitar!! I've done that for a very long time, most nights its the glue that holds the band together!! 8) I didn't even notice that wasn't a real custom till you mentioned it! I'm searching for a husk. Now I've got 2 sets of very special pups and nothing to put them in. Even some 100+ year old mahogany would be cool. LOL Its 42df out there today!! Heat wave!! LOL Thanks for the kind words the other night Jedd. I live in my house alone, and my back is severely screwed up. Minus 0 with high wind, snow and no power/heat, and being out in the country is no joke!! 4 people in the next county died because of a medical emergency(s) and they couldn't get to them!! That's real serious shit!! It doesn't happen very often, but it only takes once!! I'm liking the new tune Jedd!! Thanks mate!!! 8) --gary

Yeah rhythm guitar day! Love that old Greco, old japanese guitars can be real deals. I have an '77 Ibanez 2457 and it's a perfect vintage 355 style setneck guitar. I remember Chris Buck also purchased a 80's Greco Super Real that was "gibsonized" at some point. Cool guitars. Maybe just leave that middle pickup routing empty, nice little weight relief super tone chamber :D

Just came over from Vintage Guitar Oldenburg & Tobias Hoffmann playing a 1969 Gibson Custom that looked a heck of a lot like the Greco! Amazing how Greco was able to pull this off with such proficiency. Fun tips, Jedd! And I like the name One Fret High, Two Frets Shy. That totally works.

An idea for the middle pickup. Because 3 pickups look so good, you should buy a pickup ring and only a pickup cover (no pickup, just the nickle cover) to plugg the hole. You’ll have the look without the weight and the magnetic issues of adding another pickup! 30$ well spent I think Great riff

When you played just the triad of C# D F# I immediately heard it as Bm9. But then with the E my brain tells me it's an E13. Who knows! Cool chord though!

Love the 2 frets high 2 frets shy analogy. Another killer lesson. Love the Greco’s tone but curious as to what the white stuff on top of bridge and bottom of neck pickup is… tape.. styrofoam ?? Your last 4 or 5 posts have really been inspiring. Looking forward to an album release in the near future. A strictly rhythm lesson would be cool. Thanks for what you do Jedd!

I completely agree with you regarding rhythm guitar! I remember the first time someone lent me a meters record. From that point forward, I was just as enamored with rhythm playing as I was with soloing! Another fantastic video! On a sidenote, where is your reverb coming from? It sounds phenomenal! Sorry for all the dumb questions, I am not able to see, so just trying to learn about the gear you’re playing through since I can’t see it from the videos. Thanks so much, Jedd, for all that you share!

Jedd you talked about that Gatton record going over your head when you were 12. How old were you when you started playing?. I have some good instruments and a little studio and I'm trying to get my son started as early as possible. He's only 2 and I'm pretty sure he's a lefty. Great interesting playing too as usual. I watch these like lessons...
